Well, it’s always nice to see positive press about Lindsay Lohan, isn’t it? E! Online published a piece about why Lindsay Lohan is on the way back up!
She could be on the right track toward becoming big business again, or at least more respected. And unlike her peers Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson and Britney, everyone agrees that LiLo can act.
Here’s why they see Lindsay making a comeback:
- That Marilyn Monroe photoshoot – done by the original photographer, Bert Stern. That was an honor, and a lot of work.
- She’s working on her 3rd album
- She’s to star in Manson Girls
- Also, she’s to star with Jack Black in Ye Olde Times
- Box-office and PR experts say Lindsay is doing fine right now

i only disagree with one thing in this rather positive item,the line that says that parisite hilton,spears,and j.simp are her ‘peers’,puh-leeze,these no-talent tramps aren’t even in the same talent universe,much less to be said in the same sentence as Lindsay Lohan.parisite is a spoiled,vapid,talentless,silver spoon wannabe,who has the personality of a concrete block,no offense to the block.spears is a has-been lipsyncer,whose only claim to fame,was as a object of desire for pervy old men and tweeners,and totally forgetable ‘music’.j.simp is another manufactured ’star’,devoid of talent,persona,anything even remotely interesting,just another rather dated object of desire,whatever.

i would like to give an example of why i am such a huge fan of the incredible and immensely talented miss Lohan.toward the end of that fabuLLous movie,Georgia Rule,there is a confrontation scene between Rachel and her mom,Lily.Rachel lies about lying,to smooth over the situation with her stepfather,and her mom leaves in shock over her daughters lies.after mom is gone,a distraught Rachel closes the door,leans back against the wall,and in obvious anguish,bangs her head off the wall repeatedly.you can feel her pain,misery,self-loathing,it is heartbreaking to see this wounded kid fighting her demons.i still get all misty everytime i see this scene,and i really connect with this character,the small town,rigid relatives,the rebellious Rachel,a great movie with great characters,morality lessons,and family ties.i cannot say enough good things about Lindsay,and it’s not just this movie,it’s all her other movies,her music,her photos,anything she puts her mind and considerable talents to.go,Lindsay,go!!!LLove you,miss Lohan.LLove always,a huge fan and friend.peace

something i forgot to add in my previous comment,is that everytime i see Lindsay in one of her roles,i feel like i am peering into her soul for a short while,a guest in her house of talent and showmanship,that for a little while,i am in the presence of greatness.no other actor,actress,celebrity,politician,singer,or entertainer makes me feel this way,period.i grow weary of all the sleazy,corrupt politicians,lipsyncer ’singers’ with no pizzaz,’unreality stars’,unfunny ‘comedian’ hacks who steal others jokes,souless and vapid actresses and actors,and to put it plainly,i want more Lindsay!!!it’s miss Lohans world,and i’m happy to be a huge fan in it.go,Lindsay,go!!!i’m still waiting to see Chapter 27 in my local cineplex,wish i could’ve gone to NY or LA for those showings,but i can’t afford to travel at the present time.i have seen Chapter 27,a german dvd from 2007,but i still want to see it on the silver screen,and support the beautiful,unique,and incomparable Lindsay Lohan.she truly is the soul of this movie,as chapman has lost his soul in his madness.i recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of character acting,losing yourself in the role,and all fans of the diverse and multi-talented miss Lohan.LLove always,a huge fan and friend.peace

Well, that article was more interesting to me because of how it showed the industry perception of Lindsay. While it is easy to mistakenly think that modeling is easy because you just have to sit there and have your picture taken, anyone who’s been through the ordeal for, say, wedding photos and the like knows how exhausting it can be to pose for hours on end. I knew the Monroe pictures had a positive message attached, it just never occurred to me that the message might be:
“I sat still for two weeks wearing nothing but a genie scarf while that codger played with the lights. I am ready to behave, for the love of Pete.”
I like that. It’s funny.
Im sorry but some of the fans here are a little bit delusional. She is NOT going to win an oscar ANY time soon. It’ll be at least 7-10 before she’s recognized at that level. Lest we forget that less than a year ago this girl was involved in scandal after scandal after scandal not to mention 3 trips to rehab and a drug habit. If they give her an oscar in the next 3 years it would humiliate the oscars because this girl HAS NOT done any roles that have carried here since mean girls (and if the fans want, i’ll recognize georgia rule – even though she was extremely rude and uncooperative during shooting, something the academy im sure shuns). She’d need to build up an impressive resume to wipe clean her slate of bad problems because right now she is still percieved not as an “actress” but as a “party girl” just like p.hilton and spears and the others. Lets not forget that linds was there dancing the night away with them 5 times a week, getting in trouble w/the law just like them, doing drugs just like/with them and even flashing her crotch, just like them. I think that given her dumb choices the past two years and who she’s hung out with (like calum best who got her hooked on cocaine since before him she wasn’t a heavy drug user) it is valid to compare her to those other fools (hilton,spears,richie). Lohan has talent, but unfortunatly it has been put on the backburner and substituted for a hard partying lifestyle and she needs to be on the straight and narrow for the nest COUPLE OF YEARS if she’s going to regain some of that praise she used to get years ago. And i for one think 2008 will be another problematic year for her since she’s back to drinking and partying excessively (and there is a video of her online collapsing she’s so drunk….thats just sad) i think something bads a brewing.

Dave you said it all so far, but I’ll add one line, I having scanned the net for any ” NEW ” instances of her passing out from drinking, haven’t found so much as ONE reference to current after rehab ( this latest round ) Passing out ANYWHERE, so that reference is simply not true. I will always accept true criticism of my Incomparable Lindsay D Lohan, but not deliberate mis-truths, and half-truths, the commenter is just a half tone that does that. Shame Shame. AS for Oscars, and SAG Awards, that comes from truly defining film roles, but even there that comes under unfair judgements from the film industry critics, Her role in Georgia Rule, was a masterpiece, an A-List performance, and the Film, by Gary Marshall did not get just critique from his own peers !!! They did him dirty, not just Lindsay ! And in putting down the film, they also diminished the message, which was that child abuse sexually ion this country and others, by parent step parent or guardian, is at near epidemic proportions, and needs to be addressed, seriously, as a nation. We can fight to save the whales, big Mamals, that live in the sea, we can fight to save trees, big vegetables that live on land, we can fight to have no real furs, from animals that we feed house and shelter for that purpose, breed more than would exist naturally, some might even have already been selected by nature for extinction, had we not intervened, but Save our Children ? no lets sweep that problem under the rug, that’s dirty laundry we can’t afford to expose, because it demeans us in the eyes of the world, so the problem goes on and on. I can’t help wonder how many of Marshal’s peers are guilty of just said sexual abuse of their own children ? perhaps they did not want this movie to make spotlights on their behavior ? so they pan it, and hope the topic will quietly go away. I hope it will get louder and Louder, just to confound them all.

JP I will be accused of being a hater once more but I think ur comment was 1 of the most articulate & objective I’ve seen here in a long time about LL’s career. I wish it was as easy as some fans believe for Lindsay to be taken seriously but it just doesn’t work like that, especially when you get such a bad name prfessionally as Lindsay. We all know how talented she is but getting recognised as more than a party girl is gonna be waaay harder than just doing a Marilyn shoot or going thru Rehab. I agree with your comment as I see u recognise LL’s talents & how different she is to Hilton et al & I wish other readers here wouldn’t be offended by your comment, u are just being realistic & I know Lindsay can do it, she has bags of talent but it WILL take time, regardless of how long it takes she will get there!
I’ll disagree, Patty, in that Hollywood and public opinion can turn on a dime. If she plays a role that somehow is deemed worthy of Oscar recognition, it’ll be like this big surprise and the public, and the Academy love surprises.
It is disheartening to be a fan while most everyone else tends to write her of as “worthless skank with nice boobs” (direct quote). Hence why this article, or gossip column thing was nice to read since it give an insider view on Lindsay and she’s not so bad off as the above quote.
It will take work, though. I’m not sure if her next couple projects will do it, but I’ve been patient since 2003 that she’ll do something superlative and I will continue to be patient.

I know how slim the chances are, but we dont no. While we may all agree that it might take some time for Lindsay to rebuild her image, she nonetheless IS DOING JUST THAT! And rather quickly, too! And she has far too much at stake and has made too much progress to risk it like that.

LOL! now thats a little too quick! definitley has to be a little bit more time before she does. 2008, she has some movies in the works so thats a good thing right? people will tell me when I say, lindsay will rock in all these new films, how do you no that? wait to you’ve seen the film. but I no that because linds has never gave a bad acting performance. ever! So I’d think it would’nt take linds very long to be #1 again. shes the best actress in her group. none of these girls in hollywood can top linds! she puts all of them to shame. they have no personality and are not unique and lack so much talent. linds has all they qualitys to be the queen of hollywood. the longest she should need, if shes really serious is 3 years. by then I see no reason why she shouldn’t have an oscar at least by then. Well, i see i’ve upset the delusional fans. Honestly, i actually liked some of the things LL did. I enjoyed mean girls (a lot), i actually do like some of her songs such as rumors and her cover of edge of seventeen but i stand by my statements that she is far from this “angelic, reformed, incredible A list actress well on her way to an Oscar and international fame and celebrity”. The fact is, people still percieve her as a party girl and until she proves otherwise, she won’t be going anywhere fast. I do hope she regains some of her old charm but as for now, i don’t see that happening.
Oh and that video is not fake, look on Youtube and type in “lindsay lohan falls” and its the 3rd video down, by hollywoodtv its got a little over a half a million views and there she is collapsing like tree straight to the ground. And thats wasn’t a normal fall, you fall forward, not straight down. You only fall straight down when your legs buckle under you because you’ve downed a few too many drinks!
oh and thanks roll on patty for realizing my argument that its not that i HATE LINDZ!!! ARGH!! its just that i’m trying to be realistic and i realize that she had a VERY problematic year last year and as much as i want to see her do some good stuff again, i just don’t see her doing it. Like the marilyn shoot, im kinda twisted about that because on the one hand i think it was really cool once in a lifetime shoot to reproduce an iconic shoot (especially for her since she loves marilyn) on the other hand i kinda felt that it was a bit too soon, although i realize it was a now or never kind of thing so i guess im glad she did it. In the end, she is partying again and while there is not direct proof, IE her with booze in her hands, i saw that video and i’ve seen her leaving many clubs lately and im 20 years old and damned i’ll be if i believe she’s 21, single and drinking water at the bar in a club…in THOSE clubs where everything and anything happens. Lets not forget the constant denials by her fans that she had a problem and look where that ended her up, nearly in Jail for a year. She needs to recognize she has an issue with alcohol, take a YEAR off, look for stimulating enriching roles (not that manson thing, lindsay wtf>?) and regain her title as a “promising rising star”.

I didn’t know there was a manual for falling, and that you’re not allowed to fall a certain way when you’re sober — like if your heel gets caught, or you twist your ankle.
So I have to concede — as a knowledgeable practitioner of the “Manual for Falling When Drunk and When Sober” you are undoubtably 100% correct — there is absolutely NO POSSIBLE WAY she might have fallen like that if she were sober — YOU WIN!

– and btw, none of the fans in this site are DENYING that she ahs had problems with alcohol. We are PAINFULLY AWARE, and are HOPING that she is DEALING with her problems with alcohol.
And as some of the fans here have ALSO had problems with both alcohol and drugs, they know first hand the daily fight with demons that Lindsay must also fight.
It seems a mistake to think that, because we recognize and praise Lindsay’s talents and try to support and encourage her, that we don’t realize that she has problems.

Oh, and also, btw, Lindsay is EXACTLY a person who can be “21, single and drinking water at the bar in a club”.
Except that it may be she has a soft drink or other non-alcoholic kind of beverage while in a club — that WOULD be OK, right? I don’t see why she would necessarily be restricted to drinking only water, do you?
Maybe she just outclasses your personal frame of reference for “21, single and … in a club” by a few orders of magnitude — possibly?

Dave, Tinkerbell, Lindsay’s friend, I am sorry but I can’t leave this one alone, just yet, not without this comment, I stated that I scanned the net looking for references to Her, Lindsay, Passing Out Drunk and Falling down, which you don’t just get up from again, in like 2 seconds, and NO repeat NO reference by any of the media was made to it being a ” Drunk ” Passing out, only the commentors at the bottom of that particular bit of footage, were asking if she was drunk, and most of those seemed to be negative haters in my judgement from the tone of their comments, so I discounted them altogether, as unreliable, I then checked the footage from the only angle we currently have, in frame by frame, and she did not fall straight down, she hit the vehicule with a loud thump !! play it several times, and you can hear it. So my Original statement that I found NO references to her PASSING OUT is absolutely correct, I too choose my words with care, lest I be deliberately mis-interpreted by the haters, and give them something to use against HER, whom I love. She obviously slipped on somthing slippery right at the car when She was going to get in, and this has happened before !! Look over the vids in the past of Her falling, just as She was trying to get into one of those SUV’s either SOBER OR DRUNK, and you will see that She has had a history of problems navigating that step up into the SUV’s higher ground clearence !! Has on Numerous Occasions, had to be helped into the/any SUV by her people!!!!!!!! On to the topic of OSCAR noms. The truth of THAT is that the film Industry is completely dependant of what the PUBLIC likes !! Take the original Star-Wars movie back in the 70’s, the Studio itself didn’t think the movie was going to be a hit, just another expensive robot flick sci-fi. and Billions of Dollars in revenue, 5 sequals, Side Items like action figures, underwear, and a- Complete -Industry- Devoted- to- the- Phenomena, Later; they decided that their inital opinion of the movie’s success was really off the mark. i.e. ergo, q.e.d. etc. It only takes one outstanding subject, which comes out of the BLUE and ALL the Cast members are suddenly household stars, at sci-fi conventions for ever after, or book signings etc. In short what the public likes, is completely fickle. Look at the Harry Potter Movies, from the book series, Wildly Successful, because a down on her luck, penniless mother of several children, single unemployed, sat on a train and wrote a story about a fictional hero, and got blessed by having an agent accept an sell what has become this decades greatest phenomena !! Take the books of Narnia, C.S. Lewis wrote those, long ago, but never lived to see them in movie form, yet the first one, was such an instant hit, that we remember the 4 children on sight, even without any dialogue. All Lindsay needs is just ONE such vehicule, this year like that, and She could be right back into oscar contention. It is MORE probable for that to happen than for me to win the lottery. Hollywood is FULL of just such success stories. So don’t nay-say too loudly on this one, it c o u l d happen. and just one more little thing about her fall, She was not drunk, and She hurt herself, you could see She was in serious pain from the fall by the frame by frame expression of PAIN in her face !!! know that,your the first one outside of my own
personal observations or perceptions that Lindsay
does seem to attract a persistant barrage of
demonic harrassment,such as few others in Holly
wood,i find this quite true,and can only conclude
that Hollywood has sold out to the devil and
Lindsay could very well represent an icon of
non conformist nostaligic rebuke,i noticed that
everybody is cool now in hollywood,but it looks
more like cool incorporated,anyway thanks for
confirming my own perception on this matter
t wolf — thank you also for confirming what has baffled me and defies any other explanation. I already understood that Hollywood has been one of Satan’s favorite playgrounds for some time now. What I can’t understand is, why is after Lindsay so intently? I know that she is basically a good-hearted person (we both know that “none is *Good* but God”). But I keep having this (somewhat troubling) inner-impression that His Plan for her has to do with something more — perhaps MUCH more. And while I wait with great anticipation, yet at the same time I see her subjected to the repeated attempts to prevent her — bring her down, or at least slow her down — from reaching whatever it is. … in HIS time, then we will see more clearly (and we will know it is HIM — not just Lindsay, but Lindsay joined to HIM! Do I hear a hallelujah, Amen! on that?)

to lindsaysfriend,i think you are right in saying that
your inner impression about gods plan for Lindsay’s
life could entail something much bigger,i have had
these same impressions as well,(it’s been somewhat
troubling with me as well)
in my own impression,it has something to do with
some type of global messianic church aristocracy
or some type of Messianic Government structure
i think it is esoteric,and not openly known to
the public,maybe because of the limited way
we have been socialized to percieve things
neverthless you have got a inkling on this
and i can totally relate that it is somewhat
troubling,because i have recieved these same impressions,the name of the game is to have
faith on this matter and if it is god’s will we will
know more about this plan which certainly
appears to be alot bigger then Hollywood
t wolf — *VERY* interesting — it could come to something like that, I suppose. The “inklings” I have tend toward a deep conviction in Lindsay’s life leading into a deeply-felt and committed following of Jesus into missions and evangelism; the disturbing part for me would be the sure-to-follow complete public mis-understanding, confusion and rejection, as well as the burden on Lindsay’s part to want to have others find and see Jesus — not her. Her celebrity status could — at least for a while — become her greatest obstacle to being all that she has been Called to be. And while God can and Will work this all out to be beautiful — in His Time — the process could become very painful.
Lindsay — please forgive any presumption on my part here, only to understand that I know that you — like all of us — are very special to God, and that He has a Plan for your life that ONLY YOU can fulfill. I pray that you understand that.
