Lindsay Lohan dropped from World Music Awards
November 3, 2008 by Arieanna
After just announcing that Lindsay Lohan would co-host the 20th Annual World Music Awards on November 9th, it seems that Lindsay has been dropped from the show! Or perhaps dropped out herself, it’s not clear.
The report indicates that World Music Award execs were in a panic over whether Lindsay was “up to the job” or not. Apparently Lindsay also wasn’t happy to be given a co-host, the show wanting Lindsay to have back-up after her 2006 experience.
Some people speculate that Lindsay’s recent bad coverage about Ugly Betty, and the rumors around why her arc was cut short, could be the cause. However, it is being reported as more of a mutual decision - Lindsay not happy with her host duties, and them worried about the public reaction to Lindsay as a host again.
“Lindsay was furious that she wasn’t the star. The organisers had gone through a list of who was hot at the moment and returned to Lindsay again.
But the feedback they got was really negative.”
The World Music Awards will now be hosted by Jesse Metcalfe and Denise Richards.

Lindsay Lohan is scheduled to host the 20th Annual World Music Awards!
Lindsay will co-host the event with Jesse Metcalfe. This will be Lindsay’s second time hosting the event, following her hosting duties in 2006, which met with mixed results. In 2006, Lindsay Lohan was booed as a host and had to abandon her role as host half way through, after falling down some stairs backstage.
The 2008 awards will air live on November 9th with an opening performance by Beyonce.Top music stars from around the globe will gather in Monaco to honor popular artists with the longest track record of success in the industry. The top honor, the Diamond Award, this year goes to The Beatles, and will be accepted by Ringo Starr.
