Samantha Ronson to DJ Inauguration Party

January 16, 2009 by Arieanna

Samantha Ronson will be DJing a party for the Declare Yourself Inauguration Event in Washington on January 18th. The evening will be hosted by Jessica Alba with Maroon 5 as the musical guest.

The Mirror is speculating about whether or not Lindsay will go to the event. I hope she does - it’s a once in a lifetime event, and Lindsay’s a big Obama supporter.

They claim a “source” says that Lindsay Lohan will go to the Inauguration Party, and that she and Sam will be on their best behavior:

“This is a massive gig for the pair of them and they realise it. But Lindsay will be on her best behaviour - she and Sam are both huge supporters of Obama so they wouldn’t want to ruin the evening.”

The event is public but tickets go for $250. The proceeds from the evening will go towards Declare Yourself and the “Born Again American” campaign launch in coordination with the Inauguration and the start of the new Presidential administration.

Lindsay Lohan talks politics

November 11, 2008 by Arieanna

Lindsay Lohan sat down to talk with Access Hollywood about her new 6126 Holiday Collection leggings, and leggings in general, but also about politics. Lindsay has been vocal about wanting Barack Obama for president, but makes slip an un-PC reference to him in the interview above as a “colored President.” However, if you brush that aside, Lindsay has great things to say about getting youth out to vote and about Prop 8. Lindsay says she got “chills” during Obama’s speech.

Lindsay also talks in the interview about Ugly Betty, about women’s cancer research, and about why she loves doing movies (Lindsay say she feels “blessed” to be able to be in movies). The second part of the interview should air soon!

November 4, 2008 by Arieanna

True to her word, Lindsay Lohan got out to the polls today to make her vote count. And count it did - Obama has been elected as the next President!! For all of you who voted, no matter what your vote, great work! Lindsay thanks you too!

Here is a video of Lindsay Lohan at the polls - to cast her vote for Obama and to vote ‘No’ on Prop 8 (the ban on gay marriage):

And what’s that Lindsay’s carrying?! A new movie script, it looks like!!

Samantha Ronson rocks the vote

November 4, 2008 by Arieanna

Just like Lindsay Lohan posted last night, Samantha Ronson is reminding you to vote. On her MySpace, Sam writes:

“i’m sitting at home watching cnn’s coverage of the election hoping all of you who can vote are out there voting! if you’re in california maybe you want to think about voting no on 8……. maybe no on 4….. or maybe not. the choice is yours and that’s all that matters. “

So, have YOU rocked the vote?!

And while you’re on MySpace, check out Sam’s updated events page - maybe it will give us a better idea of where Lindsay will be!!

Lindsay Lohan reminds you to Vote

November 3, 2008 by Arieanna

Lindsay Lohan has posted a note to her MySpace, saying she’s sorry not to have posted in a while but she’s been catching up on sleep after all her travels.

Lindsay also reminds everyone in the US that tomorrow is an important date - and that every vote counts.

“The future of our country depends on it. Just one vote can make such a difference… Vote-because your thoughts are worth it..VOTE-because YOU can make this country a better place…VOTE-because you can.”

Lindsay Lohan will be voting for Obama - will you vote?

Lindsay ends her blog post with “RIP Max” for Samantha. Do you think that was perhaps Sam’s dog? If so, that’s so sad! Well, sad no matter who Max was!

Here are some other celebrities speaking up to get you to vote:

Barack Obama doesn’t want Lindsay’s help

"Ugly Betty" In New York Preview Party

The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Obama-Biden campaign was a little harsh to Lindsay Lohan.

After Lindsay Lohan spoke out against Sarah Palin, and for Barack Obama, word has it that she wanted to pitch in to help Obama make it to the White House. That she offered to host a series of events to appeal to young voters.

Sounds great, right? I mean, go Lindsay!! But apparently the Obama-Biden campaign wasn’t keen on the idea. An inside source says Lindsay ”is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us.”

They gave Lindsay a “thanks, but no thanks” response to her offer, likely as a result of the drama that Lindsay went through in the past (although she’s been doing so great lately!)

Despite the rejection, Lindsay was invited to several big Hollywood bashes held with other high-profile Hollywood celebs who are pro-Obama.

Lindsay Lohan on Sarah Palin

September 15, 2008 by Arieanna

Lindsay Lohan decided to turn her hand at politics with a well-researched piece about Sarah Palin. I think these feelings are felt by many in the US, and I’m glad that the dialogue is open and people are trying to understand the issues so they can vote appropriately.

Lindsay Lohan Party At The Ultra Supper Club - TIFF 2008

In her blog post, Lindsay points out many of Sarah’s conservative beliefs, like that being gay is a sin and gay people need to be “converted”, or her radical agendas to drill for oil in protected land areas. Lindsay looks like she was tipped over the edge on the issues by seeing a press release about Sarah Palin’s church holding a conference to convert gays. As Lindsay points out, women have come a long way in having the choice over our own bodies, so for a woman with political power (and potentially even more in future) to negate that is scary. Lindsay seems to also sniff the desire for celebrity in Sarah Palin.

Lindsay ends with a quote from herself:

“I have faith that this country will be all that it can be with the proper guidance. I really hope that all of you make your decisions based on the facts and what feels right to you in your heart-vote for obama!”

Samantha Ronson clarifies that she did not write this post on Lindsay’s blog (as she was accused of doing after she reposted it), though did help Lindsay prepare it.
