In the interview with Access Hollywood, Lindsay also mentioned that she was nervous for the upcoming Paris Fashion Week showing of the new Ungaro collection, which she helped design:

“I’m nervous about the show the way I get nervous about a film. Maybe a little bit more about this because it’s a little more personal. In a film I’m playing someone else and people can relate to that character. This is very much me and I’m putting all of my efforts into it.”

I can’t wait to see the collection!

In a new interview with Access Hollywood, Linday Lohan says that she is coming to terms with life in the public eye, but that she intends to try to stop giving the gossip magazines reasons to run with the stories they run. Lindsay says she “aspired to be like Britney Spears in the tabloids,” so she freely admits that there are downsides to that kind of choice.

“I’m really numb to it. There are times when it does affect me, when I’m having a bad day or dealing with something personal but they’re going to spin it anyway. If I make the wrong face and I’m having a really great day they’re going to say something negative anyway.”

Lindsay thinks that little sister Ali will have learned from her mistakes. However, Lindsay says she regrets nothing, for it brought her to where she is now. One of the things she had to learn was how to love herself.

Lindsay says that she’s had a lot of experience in fashion, aside from her own brands, including choosing the outfits she wears in her movies.

Lindsay describes her meetings with new Chief Designer Estrella Archs, who came to her house to check out Lindsay’s “three story closet” and to compare sketches. Lindsay says she’s very “hands on” as an Artistic Advisor, though it sounds like she’s still trying to figure out her role.

The interview, which doesn’t include the questions but just Lindsay’s answers, Lindsay talks about how she’s willing to wear something terribly uncomfortable to achieve a red carpet look, and would change many times in a day if she could, just to keep experiencing new fashion.

Lindsay also talks about the importance of not having too many boundaries or rules in life – she doesn’t regret anything she’s done in her life, since she wouldn’t be who she is now without them.

In June, Lindsay Lohan flew to Paris to meet with Ungaro following rumors that she would be hired by the fashion house as their “creative consultant.” Today, a new press release from Emanuel Ungaro confirms Lindsay’s appointment, effective immediately, in the newly-created position of Artistic Advisor.

The release stats that Lindsay has already been collaborating on the Spring/Summer 2010 runway collection which will unveil on October 4th during Paris Fashion Week (so we can likely depend on Lindsay flying to Paris for that!).

Ungaro has also appointed a new Chief Designer, Estrella Archs, who will work closely with Lindsay. Lindsay will oversee everything Archs does, though they may not always agree! They will use “their combined talent, instincts and intuition to define and promote the Ungaro brand” as the fashion-house attempts to change the vision of the company to be as much consumer-led as it is designer-led.

“Twenty-first Century muses are extroverts whose personal style and experience gives them a strong creative and artistic focus. Thus was our vision of combining the eye of a fashion creator (Ms. Archs) with the eye of the ultimate luxury consumer, a celebrity (Ms. Lohan). Mr. Ungaro’s success was based on his genius for design and his controversial eye to whom his consumer was. Lindsay is a world consumer with a clear eye for fashion.”

In an interview (and photoshoot!) with WWD, Lindsay shares that she hopes to make Ungaro into a younger brand:

“When I’m involved in a project, I give my all to it. I feel like there’s a correlation between everything I do, whether it’s pop music or film. I’ve always played a big part in what I wear, the costumes. Clothing is something that’s so expressive in so many ways. It really interests me.

To be in a position where I’m working with a fashion house in Paris sets it apart from every other celebrity brand.”

CEO of Ungaro hopes that Lindsay Lohan’s celebrity status will bring much-needed attention to the brand, saying “I think the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big.” It sounds like they’re open to any press – good or bad! Simply put, they say “the fashion industry thrives on controversy anyway.” They love that Lindsay is a diva with an eye for fashion, and love that she always wants to change her outfits throughout the day.

Lindsay shares how Ungaro has always stood for “provocation” and is about being sexy. Lindsay’s vision is for the brand to be “simple and easy” as well as sexy, saying that “less is more.”

Lindsay has signed a multiyear contract with Ungaro which will include overseeing the designs, doing trunk shows, making appearances, and being “where the activities of the brand are.” Lindsay will not, however, appear in Ungaro advertising. Lindsay is referring here to her new production company, Unforgettable Productions, and the projects she has planned there.

Lindsay also shares that she’d love to work with Tina Fey again, saying a guest appearance on 30 Rock would be fantastic.

They report that Lindsay Lohan was late to arrive and had many delays during the shoot (all of which seems true, though the gossip makes it seem harsh). Upi cam see the end result of the shoot in the below behind-the-scenes video:

In the interview with Elle, Lindsay Lohan talks about how lonely she is living the life of a celebrity. She often has no friends around her – just paid assistants – and flocks to crowds to appease her loneliness. Lindsay shares that she takes her notebook with her to vent – and release – her emotions when she needs to. Speaking of emotions, the article details a tearful confrontation between Lindsay & Sam at Bungalow 8. All of this is detailed in the magazine because the interview never took place – in the end, only a few questions were answered by email. The best part of the article is this:

“Lindsay Lohan is a contradiction. Most of the time, Lindsay is impossible to pin down. But in the moments you are together, you will see her strip down to her soul, exposing herself so completely that you are left in no doubt as to the type and intensity of every feeling running through her.

It is when she is asked the most direct questions that she is most elusive. She cannot be constant because she is ruled by the moment. It is frustrating. It is exhausting. But it is real.”

And, in the end, isn’t it this rawness what appeals to everyone about Lindsay?

Lindsay says she’s continually criticized about her weight, weather she’s too thin or too heavy. And, in talking about Samantha Ronson, Lindsay re-iterates that she and Sam are friends.

“I lost myself a bit with Sam, like many people do when they’re in a relationship. I want to be on my own for a while. I need to care about myself now.”

Lindsay re-iterates that she’s in Hollywood to do work, not to be a celebrity. She says she’s “been a target for a long time,” but she grew up dreaming of movie stars who simply wanted to act in great movies. That’s all she wants to do, but instead she’s viewed as someone who “parties, who wants to be photographed all the time, isn’t focused and can’t be on time,” which she says is not true.

Lindsay admits that April was a “hard month” and that she’s doing her best to move on both personally and professionally. She continues to insist that sheremains in touch with Samantha Ronson, saying “we’re friends,” which must be hard to do.

Lindsay talks about the amazing support she has in her family, particularly in sister Ali Lohan, who was at the launch. She says they’ve been through a lot, in their family, and they take care of each other. Lindsay said:

“I’m doing great. I’m very happy.”

Lindsay Lohan also came to her own defense of the too-skinny rumors that picked right back up again after the Hawaii bikini pics:

“I like the way I look”

Lindsay says she’s in final negotiations for a film that will start filming this October. She wouldn’t hand over details, but says the project is close to being signed. Lindsay also confirmed that she’s returning to the studio, and has named Pharrell as a producer she’d like to work with (if he’d talk with her, so let’s go encourage him!).

Lindsay Lohan was having dinner with mom Dina at Cecconie’s in Hollywood, and Samantha was there too with a group of friends. The report indicates that Sam came up to say hi to Lindsay before leaving.

There is some other silly report saying Lindsay was very drunk at a party in Friday. However, Lindsay herself reportedly refutes the gossip. Lindsay says she’s been drinking Neuro Bliss, a mood enhancement drink that uses ingredients to “relax neural tissues, to enhance brain activity, focus and provide a sense of well-being.” A picture later this weekend does show Lindsay holding the bottle, and any up-swing in her mood could easily be mistaken for being intoxicated.

As you know, Lindsay Lohan appeared in NYLON Magazine’s April 2009 edition. From the scans of that magazine (Cover, Page 2, Page 3, Page 4, Page 5), I can now reveal more of Lindsay’s interview. Lindsay shares that “people have completely lost sight of what it is I do,” and venturing into fashion, she was worried that people would read her motives as an out-of-work-actress-needing-money, which wasn’t the drive behind it. Lindsay seems anxious to return to acting in movies, and was sad that her role in Alice in Wonderland didn’t work out. Lindsay wants to learn and grow as an actress, taking on roles that inspire her, with directors and actors she can learn from.

Hopefully the media frenzy dies down in the next year or so and Lindsay is able to return to making serious films.
