Michael Lohan willing to step back

by Arieanna Schweber on August 3rd, 2007

It seems that Ali Lohan’s scolding may have done some good. Michael Lohan is now saying he’d stop trying to see Lindsay if it would help her:

LINDSAY LOHAN’s father MICHAEL is prepared to sever his relationship with his daughter, if it means she emerges from her current troubles a healthy young woman. The Mean Girls actress was arrested in Los Angeles on 24 July (07), and charged with driving under the influence - for the second time in two months - and possession of cocaine. And her estranged dad is praying Lindsay can get the help she needs sooner rather than later. He’s even prepared to step away from her life if it means she’ll do what’s needed to get healthy. Michael Lohan says, "If saving Lindsay’s life costs me my relationship with her, then so be it. Because I would rather have her alive than dead or destroyed. "Lindsay loves what she does - her craft, her talent, her gift. It that gets taken away, I fear for the worst… She can rebound and set the biggest example in the world… but she’s got to do it. "And, in order to do it, she needs the right people in her life."

Mike is a good guy, just misunderstood, like his daughter. God bless both.

Yeah, I think Michael and Lindsay will reconnect when she’s 40 and he’s 60. They are both self-absorbed but fundamentally decent. Dina on the other hand…

Don’t give up on Lindsay, people. Michael is exactly right, and I’ve always suspected this about her — if she turns around, she can turn an entire generation around. There’s something about her, an angel waiting to emerge, even a saint. That Catholic blood has to pull her through.

    Mr. Lohan,

First — I thank you for following this wisdom from your heart. If you have truly found faith in the saving, redeeming Love of Jesus Christ, I fully understand your hunger to share that — especially with the ones closest to your heart. However, as wonderful and powerful as our Beloved Lord is, yet there are some things which are solely (or should I say, “soul-ly”) within His Providence. So for as much as you and I would desire to see Lindsay come to know Him as her Lord and Savior, yet we must pray that He would show us those things which we may do, and those which only He can do.

More than anything, I would NOT want our love for Lindsay to cause us to act in such a way as to be intrusive in His Plan or become an obstacle for her coming to know her need for HIM. Not because I — or you — or anyone says so, but because she comes to know her need for His Love, and His Provision of His Love for her — solely on the basis of that He Loves her because He created her, and that He NEVER intended for her (or any of us) to live without His Love.

So while I thank you, yet I also ask that you consider that, at present, there is no “relationship” to be lost. As a new creation in Christ, you have become far removed from Lindsay while she remains in darkness; any attempt to force the kind of relationship that you assume it might “cost” you will indeed “cost” you that relationship — and will further complicate Lindsay’s path both to recovery and perhaps ultimately finding and accepting the One Love that you and I both know that she needs — the Love of the Only One Who can ever love her the way she was intended to be Loved — by Him Who Loves her more than you, or I , or anyone else ever can — forever.

So while we may love Lindsay intensely with all our hearts we MUST release her to Him. At this point the eternally disastrous truth is that there can be no fellowship in Christ with Lindsay until she receives Him as her Savior. This truly is heartbreak — one that is repeated in counted families where there is one who does not know Jesus as their Savior.

However, I would also ask that you consider this, and that is that WHEN! (my obvious prayer, not IF, but WHEN) Lindsay accepts Jesus as her Savior you must understand that there are real human wounds which will need healing, which you can NOT force! So — BE STILL! and see the power of God — but do NOT undertake to assume that you have been given that power to use as you see fit.

From here to eternity, Lindsay belongs to Jesus — not to any of us. One of the hardest things a parent has to accept — children are only on loan — a gift from God, not an entitlement.

    Dee — thanks

“Father” knows best — Our Heavenly Father, that is :-)

And Michael — yes — I have also sensed what you are saying: “There’s something about her, an angel waiting to emerge, even a saint. That Catholic blood has to pull her through.”

    But I sense it from a slightly different point of view, and that is;

    — NEVER!

    – have I seen a person so ridiculously, publicly attacked by the mignons of satan! satan usually does not expose himself to such a ridiculous degree as this for someone who is insignificant — so I know that he will lose a great deal of (hideous though it is) face when Lindsay turns to The Eternal Light — how embarrassing!

As for the Catholic blood — I pray rather that it be The Blood of Jesus which Cleanses, Purifies, and Conquers sin and death, Which will “pull her through” — and beyond — to an Eternity with Him, in His Love.

Lindsay — just rest — in His arms, in His Love, in His Peace. He has already won it and paid The Price with His Sinless Blood — given for you — and for all of us.

In His Love, as always, your Affectionate Fan

    Lindsay’s Friend,

The minions of Satan are at their peak today and in fact the entertainment industry is their stronghold, it is the media which is used to brainwash an entire generation. It is a form of black magic. So Lindsay is far from insignificant.

You see, Lindsay was supposed to have completely cracked by now, like Britney Spears, and to many people it seems like she has. This in turn gives other young girls an excuse to serve themselves instead of God, to get trapped in the mirror of their egos like Alice in Wonderland, to flush themselves away, to never come to the truth, who is Jesus.

But there is an inner strength in Lindsay that they weren’t counting on. Something that sets her apart from the other robots who they made famous just in order to break. A resilient soul and a yearning for heaven. A hole that nothing but Christ can fill, just like her dad says.

As soon as I began watching her movies I felt it, I felt that God was telling a story through Lindsay. It as if God directs her movies and even her videos Himself. Georgia Rule is a film of superhuman grace, pain and redemption yet it was made by Garry Marshall ( ?! ) Also notice how she clutches the rosary beads in “Confessions of a Broken Heart,” or the way that “Drama Queen” seems to be written by her future self looking BACK on her wild-child past: “You’ll look back and you won’t believe / That girl was me.”

I see a great drama coming. If Lindsay can turn around, it could turn a whole generation around. She could be the key to a Great Awakening. Doesn’t she say that in one of her songs, which I like to think is written to Jesus? “I want to see inside your mystery / I think that I might have the key to unlock everything.”

That is exactly why Satan is after her. She is the Mary Magdalene of the Christian twilight — not the Mary Magdalene of the Da Vinci Code, I mean the real holy sinner — and he knows it. The latest DUI was total divine intervention. God and Satan are fighting over this girl everyday.

Okay I am going to add 2 cents here, Satan has already LOST, her, this is WHY he is attacking her so strenuously. We, ALL of Us, have weaknesses that even though we put on Christ in baptism, still beset us, daily. Being in Christ does NOT mean we are no longer sinners, or that we do not sucumb to our desires, I know this more than most, But it means that we begin a journey of healing, that may take a lifetime of battle. Of getting trapped, and getting out and back in etc. Ultimately of overcomming, and winning, as that walk was begun with Christ, and NO one can remove us from His Hand, a promise he makes in the Bible, to US, lest our weaknesses discourage us, thats why He made that promise in the first place. That we stay faithfull and we Triumph in the end, ( one of the reasons I don’t like the bad guy wins movies, because GOD says that the Good Guy’s will win at the end. Bad Guy’s winning, is a defeat, and a discouragement to us Christians. SO I Hate those movies, and usually don’t watch such, to me they are anti-entertaining.) A promise that Jesus will fulfill, by His direct promise to US. So now Lindsay, If you Haven’t yet put on Christ in Baptism, and Prayer, it is TIME for you to do so, and Begin that WALK, If you have already done so, then don’t let these failures destroy you, tap into the Power of Christ, through faith and prayer, and overcome the afflictions Satan has Lulled you into, and get well, as well as you can. It’s interesting that this sort of talk always develops around Lindsay. I’ll bet there aren’t many Christians rallying around Megan Fox. We are like sharks smelling blood when it comes to Lindsay ( but in a good way. ) I don’t think she’s reading this though so don’t bother addressing it to her!

It’s not going to be as simple for her as just accepting Jesus. She is an actress and has to be given a role to play, which, in my opinion, is Mary Magdalene, the repentant sinner. She also must be the center of attention. I feel that when she begins to lose her audience, that turning to Jesus may in fact make her more famous than ever… Therefore she is valuable.
But this won’t happen until certain people arrive on the scene. Guardian angel type people.

Larry, those movies that end on a pessimistic note, unfortunately, are correct. This is the end time for Christians, and the beginning of the Aquarian Age. High technology and Christianity are incompatible and Christ is calling his sheep home. It’s not pessimistic when you consider that we are being rescued — but we do have to die first, like anyone else. That’s how your faith is tested.

Michael and Larry — thank you for that confirmation!! I can remember when people used to smirk at the “old-time religion” preachers when they would denounce Hollywood as being “of the Devil” — but it does appear obvious that Hollywood and the media are, as I have heard it put, the “handmaiden of the devil”. If satan is the father of all lies, I can’t imagine a more willing harem and a more prolific offspring.

Without getting into the specifics of when and how Lindsay will find salvation, or what may come after it (I have learned to leave that with Him), suffice it to say that we are on the same page — she has been hit from all sides — family, friends (”f-iends”), emotional relationships, career, and health — and will continue to be. As Larry has pointed out, this is not unexpected. But with Lindsay it is SO HIGHLY PUBLICIZED!

So yes, Michael, it is ” … interesting that this sort of talk always develops around Lindsay”. I believe that God has been tapping the hearts of many Christians with a burden for Lindsay — I certainly know that He enlisted me. So I have been pleasantly surprised to come across many of her fans who are praying for her.

On that “bad guys wins” note — really just another lie. I don’t consider what happens as “winning” at all. Rather, the bad guys “succeed” in doing evil, and the movie stops there. But God doesn’t! And therein is the lie — there’s more! Hell — yes! But the movie doesn’t go that far. You can rest assured that the bad guys WILL (go exactly that far, and no further!)

Joining with you in the Love we share from The Father — for Lindsay, and for all of us!

So — Lindsay — you thought Machiavelli was interesting? Just wait until you find out God’s Plan for your life! Makes Machiavelli look like peanuts by comparison!

btw Lindsay — you were really just pulling our leg about that Machiavelli stuff - right? I mean, it must be fun to throw a bone like that out to the media dogs and watch it get spewed out through the cesspool of tabloids and websites! Such power! — you big tease! lol! Love you for who you are :-)

As always, in His Love, your Affectionate Fan.
