Michael Lohan on Showbiz Tonight - Continued
The two-part interview segment with Michael Lohan on Showbiz Tonight (see part 1) continues with Michael talking about his issues with Dina, his strained relationship with his kids, about why he’s taking these issues public, and about Lindsay’s troubles. He gets pretty specific about Dina Lohan and how she’s keeping their children from bonding with him by cancelling appointments. In some ways, though, he’s not specific about how Dina is affecting the situation. And that makes the whole thing a little suspicious. First, more from part 1 (and I apologize in advance for ranting later on):
I can understand that Michael is frustrated that he has hit some stalls with his family, but Michael is abusing his own celebrity status, and that of his family, to get the attention of the court. Nobody else is afforded that kind of liberty, and I know that I wouldn’t look kindly on it if I were a judge. Regardless of whether or not Dina has a facade, or whether or not there are issues, I don’t believe family issues should be taken to such a public forum. Particularly with how much this public attention is likely to hurt the kids.
I think it’s also a bit egotistical to say that Michael is the sole reason that Lindsay is doing well or not. That is like saying that a seed can sprout with just water and not with sunshine. There are simply too many factors involved, and whether Michael is around or not around can’t be the sole factor contributing to Lindsay keeping out of trouble or not. Particularly when now is so much different for Lindsay, as an adult - Michael does need to realize that Lindsay doesn’t have to listen to him if he chooses to "put his foot down", as he states.

In this post, Michael Lohan goes off about Lindsay’s friends and about Dina’s choice to do a reality tv show. Michael says he talks to Lindsay all the time, and that does honestly tell Lindsay that some of her friends may not be good friends.

I think he needs to calm down with the interviews…if his children are truly choosing not to spend time with him it must be for a reason. He is continually embarrassing himself and his family.

wow! Garry R, I guess we all no you are a fan…a very passionate one I must say of micheal lohan oddly…but he is wrong. he should not being going to the media reporting lindsays or the familys business. At all. that is something that they all should discuss in private. he is not helping or doing any good. hes only makeing things worse for himself in the end. nothing good will come out of the this babbling to the press. I just wish he would stop if he no’s what good for him. I agree with anon.

I Agree with you tinkerbell, Michael Lohan, should stop with the public attempts at communication and definitely with the control issues. Lindsay is now 21 + and is beyond his Parental control, but not beyond careful influence, so that is what is needed here. And there is ONLY one GOD, that is GOD, The LORD GOD of Hosts !! The Trinity, you have to look at some of these comments a little more closely there is someone who has the outward saying of being christian, but give off clues to being just another poser. ingenuine as it were, or perhaps un-genuine would be more appropriate. In fact I would go so far as to say Un-balanced, if it weren’t so blatent an attack on ME actually, not anything to do with admiring Michael Lohan, which is as we all know still a young christian, and still not mature enough to see the bigger picture, that takes many many years of being in Christ, and doesn’t keep you from sinning against God, either, just lets you get a better perspective on Redemption as a whole, and what the world is really all about. If Michael is really sincere about his conversion, then over time he will develop this understanding, up to the limit of his capacity to grasp the real Import of what the Bible is saying, and not all christians are able to mature to the same level during their lifetimes, or reach the same understanding of grace, as others. Take me for instance, I am 55, been a Christian for aprox. 34 years now, and when I started out, I was determined to stamp out Pornography and Adult entertainment so calle, now after 34 years, I find my self battling an addiction of my own, I am addicted to pornography. Have been battling that for the last 10 -12 years or so, some years more successfully than others, but it will be for me a life-long battle, which I may not fully conquor this side of what the Bible refers to as ” Heaven ” but with my ever increasing comprehension of ” What-it’s-all-about ” I no longer get hyper about the battle, I recognise it for what it is. And I keep on living. Thus with Michael eventually, if he continues in the Christian Faith. the real Christian Faith, and not some of these tele-evangelists version of real Christianity. Meanwhile, I need Lindsay D Lohan, as my Girl/Woman friend. So I state, and So I maintain, and no amount of ” Mimicry ” from non serious, phony, seemingly well wishers, will cause me to change that statement. period. AND I really mean this next:

People shouldn’t think that clubbing equals to relapsing, that’s just disrespectful (not that I’m accusing anyone here of that).
