Meryl Streep wants to help Lindsay
Meryl Streep has offered to be a mentor for Lindsay Lohan. The two got to know each other filming "A Prairie Home Companion".
Meryl, 56, has volunteered her services, sources say. But a nervous Lindsay, 19, might be too skittish to take her up on the once in a lifetime offer.
"Lindsay’s been told Meryl offered to mentor her — and she should take advantage of it," a friend of Lindsay tells Star People. "But Lindsay is just like, ‘Oh, she probably doesn’t want to deal with me.’ I think she’s just a little starstruck. Lindsay’s just so in awe of Meryl."
Streep, who has three daughters — including Grace, who is Lindsay’s age — reportedly made a large impact on Lindsay by treating her like the teenager she is and not a Hollywood starlet, as most people do, the Star dishes.
Streep plays Lohan’s mom in the upcoming movie, and reportedly gave Lindsay her phone number and told her to feel free to call when she needs to talk — however the Star reports that Lindsay lost it and hasn’t felt comfortable asking for it again. "I don’t know if she would have gotten up the nerve to call her even if she hadn’t lost Meryl’s phone number," the friend tells the Star.
