Lohan named Breakthrough Actor of the Year

Lindsay Lohan has had a very busy couple of years. Aside from her busy social life, she has been doing movie after movie of more and more challenging work. And her work has now paid off.

Lindsay lohan has been named Hollywood Film Festival Breakthrough Actor of the Year.

Meanwhile, beyond all the tabloid madness, Lindsay Lohan has been quietly trying to make the leap to legitimate actress with performances in Robert Altman’s Prairie Home Companion, the Robert F. Kennedy assassination drama Bobby (a critical hit at the Venice Film Festival and an entry in this year’s Hollywood Film Festival), next year’s Garry Marshall drama Georgia Rule and the John Lennon-themed Chapter 27. As such, she is this year’s Hollywood Film Festival Breakthrough Actor of the Year.
