Lindsay Lohan “Ugly Betty” Arc Shortened

E!’s Kristen is reporting that Lindsay Lohan has been cut from Ugly Betty! Oh no!! Lindsay Lohan’s rep has confirmed the story, so it is true.

Lindsay Lohan was scheduled to appear in a total of five episodes this season (6 overall including last season) for a complete guest arc this season in Ugly Betty. However, sources are now indicating that Lindsay Lohan will not be back for additional episodes, and what’s worse, won’t have her full arc aired! She will still be in tonight’s episode, though, and one more after that.
“They don’t plan to have her back for more episodes,” says a high-level insider. “And they are cutting her out of the episodes they have already shot.”
Another insider claims that Lindsay was not “gelling creatively” with the series, that she was not interesting in creating a dynamic character out of Kimmie. They say that Kimmie ended up being too much like Lindsay, instead of a character of her own. Ugly Betty is a show with “heightened reality,” and they say that Lindsay’s Kimmie didn’t fit in.
According tot he New York Post, who confirm the story, there were a lot of issues on set that led to this decision (this is despite all the good things people were saying before!)
The NY Post insider says that Lindsay was continually late on set, smoked a lot, and made a mess of her dressing room. They say she was obsessed with tabloids (which sounds very false) and that she wouldn’t appear on set unless America Ferrera had shown up as well.
Apparently, in the episode to air tonight, there’s a scene where Lindsay’s Kimmie had to de-pants America’s Betty. And as a fun revenge, America did the same to Lindsay… except Lindsay wasn’t wearing underwear. Lindsay’s friends have stepped up to say this is all crap – that Lindsay was wearing a G-string and the trick was so cruel that Lindsay cried after.
Lindsay’s friends also say the rest of the story sounds false, and that any “entourage” Lindsay had with her consisted of her management, assistant, publicist or girlfriend Samantha Ronson – none of whom got in the way. Instead, Lindsay Lohan’s friends say that America Ferrera was unkind to Lindsay on the set and blame her for forcing Lindsay out of the show out of spite.
Out of all of this, who knows what is true? But I’m sad it’s happened. I thought Lindsay did great on Ugly Betty!
I know I said I wasn’t coming back here. But I just saw this story on Perez Hilton. I rest my case!

America F. is not an easy person to get along with. Many of her costars have always hinted that she’s complicated.
She didn’t like Lindsay and probably had Lindsay cut. This story is fabricated by the Ugly Betty producers to drum up publicity for the show. It’s a known fact that the show has dropped in ratings and stirring the pot by making Lindsay look bad is “their” next step in getting free publicity.
As for Lindsay being late? I have a hard time believing it since she really needs work. I don’t think that Linds would blow her chance to shine. It doesn’t make any sense.

well,lets think about this for a minute,Lindsays portions of the ‘ugly betty’ episodes finished shooting a little over three weeks ago,no drama,no lateness,no nothing,everyone said good things about her,all was right in ‘ugly betty’ land. now,all of the sudden,LL is a complete troublemaker,all kinds of garbage and contraversey,at the exact same time that the ‘tmz stooges’ start their lawsuit,and the SMEARnet goes crazy with haters,rumors,and the stink of perezhole,how convenient. once again,i smell a rat and its name is sally,er,perezhole.

Well, whether there’s something sinister behind this or not, the part where they state that Lindsay’s acting was not meshing well with the dynamic of the show… I have to agree. I don’t watch that show, but only from the brief clips, I could tell it was more like a live action cartoon. Lindsay behaved too real in her role to work with all of the over-the-top characters in the rest of the show. It just didn’t work.
What bothers me, though, is this will reflect badly on Lindsay and her abilities. I had read an interesting article somewhere that stated that the Marilyn Monroe shoot was about sending a message to producers. “Hey, I say there in nothing but a sheet while that old coot fiddled with the lights for a half hour. I’m ready to behave!”
Well, this whole thing is going to make her look bad, and I do not like that. Now I’m really hoping Labor Pains is good just so it can help her rebuild her career.
Untrue. They were photographed shopping and even linking hands (Lindsay, America) before the show screened. I think America was worried that Lindsay will over-take her stardom. After all, Linds does shine on screen. That’s why they booted her because the “Ugly Betty” is America after all.
alright,alright,hold on a minute,this ENTIRE rumor article from the ny post/page six is taken right out of the script of episode ‘grannypants’. the trashloid media has stepped to many lows,but this is a new low,an entire article twisted right out of a tv show,lol. i just finished watching ‘grannypants’,Lindsay was great,really nailed the two-faced bad girl role,and totally turned the character evil and unredeemable,yet you still want to like her,bravo. everything described in the post/page six item IS IN THE SHOW,WORD FOR WORD,lol,what a bunch of lying burn book junior-high scumbag ‘adults’. the media today,in every form from tv news readers to the perezhole disciples,totally sucks and is not worth one second of my precious time!!!

i do know what to believe here…its just sad that linds got cut out of the show! i was really excited and was expecting a lot from her guest role! i mean, she’s the only reason I started watching Ugly Betty in the first place! This sucks.. I think the part where her acting deosn’t fit in well with the show is just crap.I mean, if she didn’t act the part well, why’d they let her do it in the first place? and if so, couldn’t they just give her direction on how to act or on how they wanted kimmie to be like? screw this!

People were tuning in, just to see Lindsay’s part of the show. People like ME…..who had never watched the first episode of said series, for any reason, were tuning in to watch the episodes with Lindsay in them, this MUST have threatened America Ferrera, as her character is not that strong an actress. I have ” Gotta Kick It Up !! ” on dvd, and I must say, her character would be unnoticable if the camera didn’t actually pick her out from time to time. Also She has lost a LOT of weight since then, as I noticed from watching the ONLY episode of ” Ugly Betty ” I have seen so far. which was the one with Lindsay in it at the end of last season. I haven’t taped this years episodes with Lindsay in them, as I have simply forgotten to set up the machine, and I work on thursdays at the time the show is on. ( I work evenings at my current job. ) Other wise I would ONLY tape the episodes with Lindsay in them as I am TOTALLY uninterested in the show itself. I can’t see it having a third season. I don’t know why it has a second season. the Plots, if any all seem to revolve around a ” Cruella Deville ” type character scheeming and conniving around an incompetant magazine publication, always in financial trouble. In real life, mags with that kind of issue, go under. Period. no ” drama” just bankruptcy, and fading out of memory. The entire shows premise is weak, and demeaning. too bad. I will try to tape the next episode with Lindsay in it, but that will be the ONLY one of the rest of the season I will watch, and JUST for Lindsay’s character.

I have also heard that America Ferrera is difficult to work with. I noticed when watching Ugly Betty that Lindsay’s acting was much stronger and there was definitely an undertone of tension between America and Lindsay and I could see how America might feel threatened. I think it’s ridiculous how ABC is saying how Lindsay’s character reminded her too much of Lindsay herself and she didn’t bring enough depth to the character when, if you noticed, Kimmy Keegan’s role is a girl that is supposed to go out and get Mode on to page six, of course the writer’s are going to feel that her character is too much like Lindsay, they wrote her to be that way! They mentioned several references to partying and rehab, as well as portrayed lindsay’s role as if she was a “mean girl,” a reference to Lindsay’s popular movie. I don’t think Lindsay’s acting should be blamed for a group of writer’s that can’t create a deep enough character. As for claims that her character is not “interesting enough” and they plan to cut her out of episodes, shot, watch for ABC’s ratings to go down as the reason for Ugly Betty’s success is for it’s guest stars.

Ugly Betty’s ratings are down. They’ve been dwindling for a while. I think that’s why they’re giving this huge song and dance about Lindsay’s behavior. It’s BS. But it gets them free publicity even though it makes Linds look bad.
It’s sad when a show’s scripts and story lines are not enough to make the headlines. Instead they have to resort to this bs. NO respect for the ugly betty show or their creators because they have preyed on a easy target, Lindsay, who already has a reputation with the industry and is trying to rebuild her career. When she gets back to where she wants to be people are going to be saying “america who?” who has no star power of her own and needs a huge cast and multiple guest stars to keep the show interesting.

(my mom is hispanic, so it used to be a show on univision for those of you don’t know that)
anyways, it never appealed to me; i don’t really care for america; the only reason WHY i cared was cuz of lindsay; lindsay shouldn’t stoop so low for TELEVISION anyways; she’s a STAR! if she was gonna be on ANY television show, it should be at least lawℴ cuz i know this girl can be serious AND act :/

Lindsay needs the work. I don’t think she has any other projects lined up aside from her CD. I don’t know what happened to ‘Dare to Love Me’.
I don’t think she and her manager were choosy about roles since they’ve been difficult to come by. Lindsay needed something light and popular like Ugly Betty to make her comeback. She needed steady work and I hope this won’t ruin any future work prospects.

Here is my two cents worth:
I think that it is a damn shame that Ugly Betty got rid of Lindsay Lohan. I think that if they made her a regular that she would have outshined America Ferra. Personally, I am a fan of America Ferra, too, but IF this idle gossip is true, quoted from Becky Newton, then, I am disappointed that Ferra would act like this, but I doubt it. YET, I could see a higher up being concern that Lindsay’s character could have stolen the show. I believe that it is a bunch of crock that they accuse Lindsay of acting like herself when “they,” the writers, wrote the character for her and asked her to come on to the show. If I was Lindsay and they asked me to return, I might decline being on their show especially if there has been some dirty crock that has went down while she was on set.
Hollywood is a dirty business. I think that LL has gotten the bad end of the stick this time. I have no respect for a show that will ask an actress to guest spot on their show and somehow ALLOW dirty gossip to hit the front page news or webpage. It is downright disgusting, and if it was me, if I was in LL’s shoes, I would tell them “No, Thanks” and never worked for them again.
I agree with you guys who said that the reason why the Ugly Betty producers wanted Lindsay to star on their show is to hype up their show. I agree, too, that when Lindsay is in her scenes with America, she blows America clearly out of the water. Lindsay does comedy VERY well compared to America. America is good at doing dramatic roles, IMO. I think that Lindsay can do dramatic roles as well or just as good, BUT when she does comedic acting, she is a natural at it.
She deserves better especially the way that she has been working hard to build up her career. I just can’t believe that the show would be involved in letting information about what happened on set slipped….or even that, falsified information.

Also, we’ve all been bringing up and agreeing to the same points that Linds shouldn’t be blamed for her acting, its the show, they need her, they asked her to be on it now they’re criticizing her.
I say we start a petition, they want drama an hype for their show, we should get a petition to keep her on..or at least salvage the episodes she already shot, so they don’t edit her out.
Even if Lindsay doesn’t wanna go back on or isn”t asked, we could still show her our support.

I wish Lindsay would go to College, and and get a Degree, for a while at least, and let all the Drama around her fizzle out, which it would if She dropped the limelight for about 4 years, get Her Degree, ( She is also REALLY SMART people, don’t forget that….) Then She could take up acting again, with Her HUGE following, and all the current drama would be old news by then, so She would be able to start fresh,,,,Might I suggest Roane St. here in O.R. so She would be near …….ME…..and then we could meet, and start dating…….and ……( Or perhaps U.T. Knoxville, She would STILL be near me, and same applies….) Love You Always lady.
