Lindsay Lohan supporting ONE
August 18, 2006 by Arieanna
Lindsay Lohan is taking a stand on AIDS and poverty by supporting ONE, The US Campaign to Make Poverty History.
Lindsay Lohan will be lending her face to launch a new line of ONE t-shirts designed by EDUN, available starting September 11th at Nordstrom for $40. All tees will be made in Lesotho of African cotton, bringing trade to a very impoverished area with at least 29% of the population suffering from AIDS. Each tshirt will donate $10 to the Apparel Lesotho Alliance to Fight AIDS (ALAFA) fund.
The advertsing campaign is shot by model and photographer Helena Christensen and includes Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams, Jimmy Fallon, Naomi Watts, Kate Bosworth, Rosario Dawson, Djimon Hounsou, PeterSarsgaard and Gary Oldman alongside Lindsay Lohan.
ONE’s mission is to rally Americans to fight the emergency of global AIDS and extreme poverty. Over 1 billion people today live on less than a dollar a day, and a child dies every three seconds due to AIDS and extreme poverty. ONE recruits supporters from all walks of life, hoping to rally more support and awareness of the epidemic problem.
