Since Chapter 27 has now pre-screened in a couple of theaters across the US, and is soon to have it’s Opening Weekend for the April 4 night (you can win tickets!), I thought I’d check out some of the reviews. The reviews from the premiere overseas were luke warm, although Lindsay Lohan received a lot of praise. Here are some insights from recent reviews of Chapter 27.

The film itself is criticized in writing/direction for a poor aesthetic, and jumbled postmodern references that just don’t quite fit. Lindsay, however, gets some good reviews for her ability to take on a role (as Jude) that embodies so much (representing ‘all fans’) - she is supposed to fade into her role, but is given pivotal roles by providing Chapman with access to John & Yoko’s son. The movie is said to stumble after ‘Jude’s’ part is over.

  • Gothamist gives a poor review of the film, but a good one of Lindsay:
"Supporting characters like Lindsay Lohan, who, perhaps by contrast, comes off as refreshingly charming and adorable here, can’t wait to get the hell away from the self-absorbed Chapman."
  • The New York Daily News gives a more positive review, understanding that the point of the film was to get into Chapman’s head, and to see the world in his distorted perception. Yes, it is dizzying, but that’s part of the point.
  • TVGuide says the movie is painfully slow, too wrapped in self-pity, without much action. But that was true to Chapman in reality - perhaps too true for film
"Lohan is fine as the fictitious embodiment of all fans with nothing more sinister in mind than securing an autograph or exchanging a few words with their idols"

You can read more reviews listed from Rotten Tomatoes, which gives the film an 18% overall. Keep in mind, independant films don’t always "click" with mainstream audiences, but they can still be amazing. If you take out that this is not an "action" flick, but a documentary look into the life of a boring and crazy man, and how that impacted the world, then perhaps you will see the true gems of the movie.

Included in this post above and below are photos from Thursday, March 27 of Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson and a friend stopping at a newsstand for an afternoon Red Bull kick. The group then hung out in the alley behind the DCMA store off of Melrose Avenue, which is owned by a friend.

I didn’t see the film but i can imagine that: “The movie is said to stumble after Jude’s part is over”. I think Lindsay is the only interesting part of the movie. For me anyway.

i am still going to see this movie when it opens locally, but i must confess that i have watched it already,as a friend of mine who is in the service, brought me a copy from germany, where it was released in 2007.it definitely is a jared leto movie,as Lindsays role,Jude,is a minor supporting character, appearing only twice, but she is a ray of sunshine in a journey of madness and lunacy in the twisted mind of chapman.it is a character study of obsession and deranged behavior, definitely worth seeing in my opinion.leto is off the hook in his physical take, mental take, and is completely unrecognizable from the guy in ‘my so-called life’.Lindsay is a breath of fresh air and positivity, and she should have had more scenes, but i understand why she didn’t,as the focus is on chapman.i hope that miss Lohan continues her diverse indie roles,as well as mainstream movies,as this young woman is an awesome screen presence and hugely appealing personality in her roles.go,Lindsay,go!!!love you, miss Lohan.love always,a huge fan and friend.peace

so,i’m bobbing and weaving through the trash of the smearNET,looking for the latest on my favorite movie star, the absolutely beautiful and incomparable miss Lindsay Lohan, and i see the start of that tawdry tinseltown kids awards, and it occurs to me that we won’t see Lindsay there.do you know why?it’s not because of her image, reputation, personal issues, haters, etc,it’s because she will literally steal the show from ‘miley montana’ two-face goody two-shoes and all the vapid under 30 freaks of hollywierd, that are parading their seriously lacking wares.i can’t stand 99% of people under 30,currently in hollywierd, and to be honest, most people over 30!!!LINDSAY OUTSHINES THEM ALL!!!i get so frustrated at the lack of talent, charisma, personality, individuality, screen presence, and that ’something’ that makes a person a STAR,in most people, young and older,in showbiz today.there are only a handful of people that i like, and Lindsay outshines even those good few,and i just want to see her again,on the silver screen,up in the lights, where she belongs, larger than life.go,Lindsay,go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love always,a HUGE fan and friend.peace

Come on people, you don’t really know what happened between Sam and Lindsay, only the two of them do. You only know what the tabloids have told you, and is that where our belief systems are based on? I rather trust Lindsay’s judgement than any of the rumors out there.

Lily Rose u are correct, if we believed the thrashy tabloids we would have to believe all the lies about Lindsay as well wouldn’t we? I think Sam reminds me of Pete Doherty sorry I’m not being mean she just does!

Well Looks like I have a new comment to leave here, Just out of professional courtesy to the site of the above commentor, Are you or your asigns and heirs going to continue your site for the next oh I don’t know, say 10,000 years or so????????? Otherwise I don’t think you are going to achieve the stated purpose of your web site. perhaps you intend to pass this site along to your great great great grand childrens grand childrens childrens childrens Children ? Unless of course the entire intent of your site is just to hate. which seems pretty obvious to me, when I followed the link you posted in the comment just above this one. Interesting premise though, you seem to indicate that you know for a fact the outcome you describe will happen, and I am not so sure. But I AM pretty sure that it won’t happen in your lifetime. As to that, I don’t know you who you are, I * NEVER * knew you.
GOD Bless You Always, Lindsay D Lohan, I Love You Always, me, Larry T Robinson O.R. Tn.
