  Lindsay looks fantastic,a true movie star,always number one in my book.she looks serene,mature,polished,and it must be a real honor for her to accept an acting award from a film festival in her native land,as miss Lohan is of irish/italian heritage,very nice,young lady.i am really happy for this hugely talented,beautiful,and charismatic performer,that in the midst of her personal issues and a very turbulent year,some professionals in the film world,saw fit to honor her acting talents,and thereby give her some much needed great publicity,and maybe some good fortune for her future in 2008.i wonder if she demonstrated some her tango dancing skill at the festival…

  it is nice to see Lindsay seated next to that great character actor,John Malkovich,instead of some judgemental,immature,trash-talking,mediocre tv ‘personality’ like hayden panawhatever.if you look at the closeup of Lindsay and John Malkovich,you will see that he is talking to her,she looks genuinely happy to be conversing with him,and that he sees the talent in her,beyond the all the negative smokescreen of the trashloid media,and sees a kindred spirit in the ages old profession of acting,showbiz,theater,entertainment,call it what you will.i see Lindsay coming back big,and i will smile at the stupidity of the talentless hater hacks when she walks up on that oscar stage…

  Robbie Hunter…good,thanks.yourself?i have a feeling that 2008 will be a good year for my favorite movie star,the immensely talented and incomparable miss Lindsay Lohan,as she has a new cd in the works,’dare to love me’ will put her back on good terms with studios,i believe there are scripts with her name attached,but the power people behind the scenes are just waiting to see how she does on the ‘dare to love me’ set in January.go,Lindsay,go!!!maybe 2008 will be the year your dreams as a writer,are rewarded,Robbie,and maybe you are the writer who gets an oscar nod for your script as miss Lohan gets a nod for bringing the pages to life,as only she can.you never know…

  OMG! she looks so gorgeous! and so happy! awww, I think this is the happiest I’ve ever seen lindsay! yep, linds is back you guys. look at that smile. that’s the only answer we need.seeing her smile like that, you would’ve never known she went through so much. I think linds has forgiven herself and is ready to move forward in her life and she’s not looking back. she’s evolved. our girl is back. the queen bee is back. I think this is just the beginnig of many awards for our lindsay,(hint,hint that beautiful oscar!) and I think this is her biggest highlight of 2007! to think it happend at the very end of the year after all the bad stuff! but thats a great way to go out! go linds! I’m proud of you. that girl is strong going through all of this infront of the whole world and bassically getting beat down and then just comeing out smileing like that. linds is like look haters,even though you all tried to hold me down,I’m still here and I’m not going anywhere!LOL! I couldn’t have did it! she wasn’t lying when she said she was born a fighter in one of my favorite lindsay songs “my innocence.” because she definitly is a fighter. she’s toughskin 4real. that’s why some how I always knew she would be fine. and thats why I’ve always loved lindsay.
  This time I’m sure, shes back. her familys back 2gether again and her mind and heart are in the right place. for whatever reason it is, this time I’m sure she’s been changed. for the better.   I do find her award to be maddenly vague, though. It’s almost like a lifetime achievement award, but those really should not be given to folks below the age of fifty, possibly even sixty, when a full lifetime has been devotes to the craft.

  Which I’m sure Lindsay would win one, anyway when she reaches that age. Imagine all of the stuff she has yet to do.

  It strikes me that she needs a movie like I Am Legend or Cast Away, where she is the only other human being in the movie for the bulk of the running time to show people that she can act and to forget the tabloid trash.

  I agree with posts defending Lindsay, she has great fans! I am just upset about how her career has taken a turn for the worst, and that she chose to dive into unhealthy habits apposed to a great successful career. I have seen all of her movies, and to be honest i truely do believe there are better actors and actresses out there, EX. Rachel McAdams, for those Mean Girls fans (which i do like alot btw.) she has made excellant movies and remains out of drugs and trouble. I would like to see Lindsay prove herself more, you know? Then, with more hard work she will truely deserve an award. Her dream is to win an Oscar is it not? So, she has a journey ahead of her, maybe dable in some more serious roles, not teenager ones Like Just My Luck, Confessions, Freaky, Georgia, I Know Who Killed Me. I think she is trying to get more age appropriate roles, and thats great, but my opinion on the matter of giving her and award NOW still stands as undeserving. I love nothing more than to look at an article about a celebrity and see that they are happier than ever and have a great critically acclaimed movie and a great lifestyle. Lindsay is halfway there, i do think she can get all the way, just its too early to call her an icon. I do apolgize for the ‘FU’ part, just frustrated. Sorry.

  Well at the time of “Confessions” and “Freaky Friday”, she was a teenager and so those roles were right for her then. McAdams was 26 or 27 at the time she was playing a teenager in “Mean Girls”. So you not really making that much sense. On the other hand Lindsay was playing role a few years her senior in “Just My Luck” where her character was most likely 22+ being a college graduate working a professional environment. As far as “Georgia Rule” is concerned while the role was of a girl two years younger than the actress it was serious dramatic role. Have you seen all of these movies?

  OK maggiemay — apology accepted — we all tend to vent some frustration in here from time to time — though usually in defense of Lindsay — not directed at her!
  There is some merit in what you say — she has many opportunities ahead for perhaps unlimited roles in which to demonstrate her true talent.
  We have all been “upset about how her career has taken a turn for the worst, and that she chose to dive into unhealthy habits as opposed to a great successful career”. But we (here in this site) believe that:
  1. Lindsay had some serious personal issues related to the breakup of her family as well as possible professional issues in terms of having her mother as her manager — both of which required that she work through them WITHOUT the very support she needed — and that in the context of Hollywood (HELL-iwood) which sought to foster and exploit her downfall rather than shield her, and
  2. that she seems to have succeeded in resolving that conflict to some degree — in part due to some reconstruction of her family — by resolving the conflict with her father and distancing herself from her mother.

  So I think that the view here is that Lindsay IS now on the way into her full adult professional career — and we can hardly wait to see how Lindsay, her talent, and the industry come together in some full-fledged adult roles — ones of her professional choosing — not her mother’s.

  So we are all poised — like spectators in a great stadium — wathcing Lindsay step up to the starting line and dig –

  the starting gun is about to fire! — On your marks, get set . . .
