Lindsay Lohan Paper Magazine – Interview & Outtakes
February 29, 2008 by Arieanna
Paper Magazine has published an excerpt of their interview with Lindsay Lohan on their website, along with some outtakes from the photoshoot that appeared in the March 2008 edition. The interview was conducted with Lindsay right before Lindsay went to the Cloverfield premiere, so about mid-January.
Lindsay Lohan had just come off a cake binge, having baked a Duncan Hines Angel Food cake and frosted it the night before. Lindsay says she is very ready to get back to work – to find strong characters and roles:
"Right now I just want to find a great script, a great role," says Lohan with palpable urgency in her voice. "I was so used to working and working and working, and for a good few months there was nothing for me to do. Now I know what it’s like to be an out-of-work actor, and how much it scares me."
And later, has this to say about directors taking a "chance" on her:
"I am what I am. They either want to take a chance or they don’t, is how I see it."
Lindsay talks about everything going on her her life and how she used partying as a way to hide from it all.
"I hadn’t seen my dad; I had a lot of work stress ’cause I was constantly working and never took time to stop. Everything was go-go-go, and the easiest thing was to run away from it, going out and drinking at night. You know, you don’t have to think when you let go sometimes. But I didn’t realize it was getting in the way of my work — what I’ve worked for my whole life."
Fear and safety are things that play out in the themes of Lindsay’s life. Like dealing with the paparazzi – dome days, just dealing with them is a job in itself. Lindsay has come to a lot of truths in her life – sitting in rehab, she had a lot of time to think about herself and her life. Lindsay says that recocniling with her father was good for her whole family.
Jeremy Scott, who photographed the spread, has this to say of Lindsay:
"To me, Lindsay is the most postmodern actress there is," says her good friend Scott, "because she’s got all these little bits and pieces of great actresses that have come before her… You could liken her to Elizabeth Taylor in that sense: someone who started very young, and it’s all still unfolding. There’s so much that’s going to come from her that we haven’t seen."
Check out the rest of the interview here – including some roles that Lindsay would love to take and some projects she’s been auditioning for.

I think that they should take a “chance” on her as she really is a great actress. It may take a little time for her to rebuild the necessary confidence, i.e. you have statisfy the insurance people.
Again…She’s so mature and ready to be nr.1 again…That’s you’re place Lindsay NR.1…peace
every great actress of old hollywood had her personal issues, her ‘dark side’,and they probably used these experiences and issues in channeling their characters.Lindsay is the modern incarnation of these humanly flawed, fabulous, and oh so appealing ladies of the golden age,the torch bearer of a bygone era.i love you,Lindsay, and i accept that ‘you are who you are’,wouldn’t have it any other way.go,Lindsay,go!!!we will see you again,on the silver screen, and in a beautiful gown, striding confidently up onto that oscar stage…
love always,a huge fan and friend.peace
“well,if you ask me,the bouquet is a little too robust for a merlot, but, then again,i am partial to the softer california grape.”

i like how this Jeremy Scott thinks, especially the part where he says,’Lindsay is the most postmodern actress there is,because she has all these little bits and pieces of great actresses that have come before her…’ to which i add,’yet Lindsay is a unique,multi-dimensional,fully-realized persona complete with imperfections and singular highlights that make this outstanding and mesmerizing personality, all the more appealing and truly one of a kind.’bravo, miss Lohan, bravo.don’t ever let anyone change who you are,do your own thing, march to your own drummer, and we will see your individuality rewarded one day, when you walk up on that oscar stage…
i love you,Lindsay.love always,a huge fan and friend.for those of you that sometimes may wonder at my use of the word ‘love’,let me say this,
i have met this young woman, and remain impressed and full of hope for her talents, regardless of her personal issues and the constant braying of the haters
i took two years of drama in high school, was not that good, and i lacked that indefinable ‘it’,so i live vicariously through the talents of this incomparable triple threat performer.
i always root for the underdog, and Lindsay is the underdog, fighting against the whole stinkin’ hollywierd hate machine, smearNET,legions of haters, but her talent will, one day, show them all the other side of the door.go,Lindsay,go!!!
i always appreciate the people who stand out from the crowd, male or female, and believe me,miss Lohan STANDS OUT in a crowd, and i don’t just mean physical beauty, there is something more, that look in those mesmerizing eyes, that husky, raspy voice, that laugh, that promise of untapped potential, that we are just seeing the tip of the LLberg!need i say more?!
to quote miss Lohan:”i am who i am.”peace

while i am on the subject of movies,i want to quote a movie line that i absolutely love, that i could see a character of Lindsays saying.its a 1999 movie called ‘drive me crazy’ with adrian grenier, the ‘entourage’ guy.in the movie, greniers character,Chase,is a rebel without a clue,a lovable anti-establishment slacker, who is trying to get his nerdy buddy to stop scmoozing the ‘in’ crowd,in order to get accepted.the two get in a fight,as Chase is drunk, and his buddy, dave,is jealous.the quote:
Chase:”you want them to like you,Dave?!tell them to go f**k themselves!people like them need people like you, otherwise there is twice the trash and no one to take it out!”Chase gets out of the car, slams the door, and disappears into the night.awesome line.i could see Lindsay saying this line,as a proud individual, staying true to her character, not toeing the establishment line, just because all the posers and ‘yes’ people clones are.only those who make waves ever get noticed, otherwise you are just another cookie-cutter manufactured ‘talent’ like that souless,dead-eyed,cue card reader, megan skankfox,in an industry of talentless clones.bah, these vapid trolls disgust me!whatever happened to the Ann-Margrets and Meryl Streeps of this generation?THERE IS ONLY ONE,THE SINGULARLY UNIQUE AND INCOMPARABLE,MISS LINDSAY LOHAN!love always,a HUGE fan and friend.peace
“okay,i know you pulled your georgia rule bulls**t with my mother before she fled, but i’m not her,and you can’t tell me what to do!Rachel rule.”

you know what else really makes me mad?!that hollywood/disney ‘darling’,ann hathaway, goes completely naked in a disgusting and utterly distasteful ‘movie’ between ‘princess diaries 1′ and ‘p.d. 2′,and not a peep is made from the ‘critics’ and the public, what gives???don’t believe me?watch ‘havoc’ 2005,especially the unrated version, hathaway is topless, then naked later,in a thoroughly repulsive exploitation ‘film’ about dumb silverspoon white chicks trying to get into latino gangs, huh?!yet,no one says anything in the press, and she ends up with p.d.2,and that prada movie with Meryl Sreep.Lindsay has some offscreen issues and gets thrown to the wolves, where’s the fairness in this cesspool called hollywierd?!i can’t stand hathaway, other than the princess movies,as she has basically two expressions and a mouth bigger than julia roberts, and that’s a big mouth!!and hathaway has been spouting off political stuff lately.do yourself a favor, honey, leave the politics in the voting booth,or you will find your ‘acting’ career in doubt at the box office,as a lot of folks like me lose interest when uneducated ‘actors’(read sean penn and co.)try to tell us how to think and vote.but i digress,i just making the point that there is a serious double standard in hollywierd, and the whole stinkin’ hollywierd hate machine wants to bring down this immensely talented superstar, won’t happen,no sir,i got your back, miss Lohan.love you,Lindsay.love always,a HUGE fan and friend.peace
“don’t let the haters stop you from doin’ your thang!”

while i’m venting about the unfairness and Lindsay-bashing that is so prevelent in hollywierd, let me ask this question.why is it that miss Lohan is accused of sleeping with every guy she sees, talks to,walks near,or is in the same city with, but, has never been rumored or accused of sleeping with any of her co-stars?huh?not one.i can’t understand this.the hollywierd hate machine/trashloid/smearNET devils constantly ‘link’ her to all these guys, but never once to any of her male colleagues that she has worked with, such as chris pine, garrett hedlund, elijah wood, dermott mulroney, justin long, jonathan bennett, and others.if Lindsay is such an insatiable maneater,as the trashloid media clownshow claims, why hasn’t she pursued any of the guys she has worked onscreen with???you see,it’s all a bunch of bull, and i see thru the smokescreen of lies and garbage, and see these devils for who they truly are.i know that miss Lohan is strong enough to pull through this madness and hate, and we will see her walk across their heads on the way up to that oscar stage…
love you,Lindsay, and i will continue to expose the web of lies and unfairness, both in hollywierd and its minions, the smearNET,and the acolytes of the devil, perezhole.love always,a huge fan and friend.peace

great comments dave. and you know what I think isn’t fair for linds? everytime linds goes to a club/restaraunt the tabloids say she did drugs drank alchohol etc. and I can’t stand those fans who blieve that crap. who forget everything thing linds has said in her interviews and believes the story word for word! it shows they dont trust her at all. if you dont even trust her now after all this and believe in her and what she says, how can you even be a true fan? why do you even come to this site if you really dont believe shes serious about her sobriety? thats why its so easy for them to believe that trash right a way. I say this because in another lindsay site, some new pics came up of her SUPPOSEDLY leaving a club where she SUPPOSEDLY fell off the wagon and what not with dj sam(who I believe is just put in a bad image by the media.) ok 1, linds was with one of her good girlfriends, they could’ve just went to the restaraunt not the club. 2, linds said she was working on her bulls**t detactor. if sam was such a bad friend, I think linds would’ve exed her out by now. and 3. linds deserves to go out sometimes! shes does not have to stay in hiding away for the rest of her life and not having any fun just because of what people will say about her like some of these other fake stars. linds still has a life and she still lives it to the fullest. shes already said she will still go to a club, just not as frequently as she used to! thats where a fan trust comes in. you look back on her recent interviews and pay attention to her new ways of life and you already know what to believe. linds said she was here to stay. I know she mean’t that. I know she does not wanna go back to that bad place. so all those fake fans in the other site, the ones who always complain about her clothes and hair and etc, instead of just being thankful that their girl is standing back up after the hell she went through, will always fall prey to the tabloid rumors. man, I can spot a fake lindsay fan from a mile away. and I can spot a fake tabloid, trash net media rumor from a mile away. the rest of these fans need to step their game up. show me your a real fan and trust linds first before you trust the tabloids. and these tabloids need to step up their game if they think these little rumors and these damn stupid a** stories are gonna stop lindsay the queen bee from makeing her mark on that dead tallentless town called hollywood. everything she goes through it makes her grow and it just makes her better. the tabloids and media fail to understand that you can’t stop whats destiny. and thats for linds to be the queen in hollywood. case closed.
Tinkerbell…great comment,i totally agree with you.i am really annoyed with all the ‘fairweather fans’ that constantly gripe about her going out and other such trivial crap.i don’t get it.i am drawn to this immensely talented and beautiful young lady by her magnetic personality, screen presence, charisma, that larger than life persona that grabs me in the theater, and frankly,i could give a darn what is said on the smearNET as i have had my share of bad moments in my years of madness, and i do not judge this young lady, only hope and pray that she picks up the pieces, learns from her mistakes, and becomes a stronger person for it,and channels those experiences in some great role, and that we shall see her walk up on that oscar stage…
love you,Lindsay.love always,a huge fan and friend.peace
