Lindsay Lohan Insured for “Labor Pains”

According to the Daily News, Lindsay Lohan was close to being un-insurable for her latest movie, Labor Pains. I do find this hard to believe, but the news report says producer Rick Schwartz kept being turned down and had to vouch for her with the one company he did find. I think I’d rather believe the other report from this week that said how impressed Schwartz was with Lindsay. Lindsay has shown up to ever meeting early and is rehearsing every day with energy and focus, says co-producer Celine Rattray.
"Whatever personal issues she may have had in the past, it is clear to me that work is her total priority.
"She wants to make this role and this film a success, and I truly believe in her."
Celine says Lindsay has impressed the insurance and bond reps too.

Apparently she’s off “Ye Olde Times”, which is too bad as I was looking forward to that one, having been to a Ren Faire or two in my day, I can guess the settling is ripe for comedy.
But, these are nothing to be worried about. project change like this all the time in Hollywood. But she does need a hit at this point, so hopefully whatever her next movie is it does well. Even if I don’t like it.
“Labor Pains” sounds like it’s going to happen, although I’m still not sure about this one. It could be good. It could be tepid. But, we’ll see.
Checking the IMDb, it appears that this is the director’s fist film and one of the writers has only a couple credits, including an episode of Lizzie McGuire.
*groan*
My expectations just sank like it struck an iceberg and killed 1500 people in the northern Atlantic Ocean. So, I suspect this will be on par with “Just My Luck”, then. Which means most here may like it, but it’s also a “safe” choice for Lindsay and marks her return to the same sort of family comedies she’d done before. This makes me sad since she was trying to stretch herself and do different things. Sure, that didn’t work out so well, but doing something new isn’t always easy, either.

To comment on the actual news item, I’m not all that surprised that they had trouble insuring Lindsay. After the personal life meltdown last year, she’s just a risk and insurance companies have been hesitant to take risks these days. With time, this will get better so long as she doesn’t relapse or anything, knock wood. hopefully this film will get made with no hitch and turn a tidy profit. This is the start of Lindsay rebuilding her career and it needs a firm foundation.
