For as much as I was glad to see Lindsay’s reconciliation with her father — at a time when that is what she most desperately needed, I believe that now I see some distancing between the two of them. Lindsay STILL needs the love of a caring father — I’m not sure that Michael quite has that to offer, as it seems he has become more wrapped up in leading his own life.

Yes, Lindsay — if true, certainly another … “annoyance” — another complication, another disappointment — yet again from someone who should be close to you and supportive. I trust that you have closed the earlier wounds with your father, but I can see that you have kept your eyes open. After all, your father is only human too. We ALL have had to forgive our parents more than once for being less-than-perfect —

so — as I’m trying to say, Lindsay does not need to accept the intrusion of these people into her life (and you’re right, Jaine — there should be absolutely no financial/legal connections to Lindsay) . Any attempt on their part to try to capitalize on some distant relationship to Lindsay will only increase the distance — not close it. This part of the “family” is TOTALLY in Michael’s court (hah! literally!)
