I quite enjoyed dave’s interpretation of the photo — I am surprised that you seemed to miss that it was an “as-if” sort of response (as opposed to a hard statement of fact) — it seemed to bother you that someone might derive such a sentiment from someone of whom they are so fond.

Is it entirely implausible that Lindsay has truly corrected her course and set her sights clearly on the top? Of course, as her fans, we certainly have a strong wish that it is so. And yes — when you love someone there is always the hazard of being slightly blind to the imperfections and always optimistic in hoping for the best.

So what I (and a few other ‘veterans’ of this site, as you can tell) find as cause to come to the defense is the not-so-subtle stance taken that what we are seeing from Lindsay is, at best, insincere (”…unless you’re very naive you can see Lindsay is doing some serious damage repair” and ” … lying”) — and that you have given the benefit of the doubt to the media. On what basis — other than your own conjecture and personal disposition towards Lindsay — do you call into question the degree of sincerety and genuineness of what she is doing versus what the media reports? Not that we question your freedom to do so. We all have to ask ourselves the same questions. But we do it out of our concern for Lindsay, not for the opportunity to disdain her.

Of course we see that she is doing some “serious damage repair … “. We expect that she will — why wouldn’t she. BUT — she’s doing it by simply getting back to being WHO SHE IS — LINDSAY !!

Nothing insincere about that, is there? And if you will read back through these posts, I think you will find we are far from naive. Truth of the matter is, many of us have been through the media blood-bath and fecal fest (and worse .. I can’t say here — Arieanna won’t like) poured on Lindsay during her difficult time. What we have seen repeatedly is that the media repeatedly regurgitates and defecates, and re-regurgitates and re-defecates ANYTHING it possibly can to provide an incentive for its stupid, mindless consumers to $$$BUY$$$ — Lindsay-be-damned. And we’re all pretty sick and tired of it all, so, there just isn’t a whole lot of love left for people who show up in here riding the same old horse … I think you might understand? Go ahead — read back a few posts — and then reconsider, if you care to, the basis on which you ground your opinions.

As for Lindsay, she has MOVED ON, she IS moving on, and pretty soon the trashloids will have to find a new target, because Lindsay is moving into CLASS! — where she belongs. And we all know that stupid, mindless consumers have no possible interest in that, now don’t we?

PPS. Why should Lindsay sue the guy? THEY ARE FRIENDS, according to her, right? (sarcasm)

So yeah, think first before saying something. You think you’re so smart and all that. Just leave her alone.
