Has Lindsay Lohan Helped Sam Make Money?

December 24, 2008 by Arieanna

Has Lindsay Lohan helped Samantha Ronson’s career? That’s the question that the NY Daily News is asking, and I have no doubt at all that it’s true.

Lindsay Lohan, who has not been shy about saying she goes to DJ events with Sam to “support” her, has helped to boost Samantha Ronson’s DJ career. Sam, who is a very talented DJ, is now able to pull in higher prices for her gigs than she did on her own.

While sometimes Lindsay Lohan hosts events that Sam DJs, like she’ll do on New Years Eve, most of the time Lindsay Lohan is an “unofficial” VIP guest at the parties that Sam is DJing.

The NY Daily News reports that Samantha Ronson has been able to increase her DJ fee from $1500 per gig to as much as $25,000!

“While Sam never contractually agrees that Lindsay will show up to her shows, promoters, owners and publicists all know that if you book Sam, there’s a high likelihood Lindsay will also show”

There are also reports that Samantha is cutting a new album, but is keeping it separate from Lindsay, not a joint effort. I think that’s a smart move, since already it sounds like people are giving Lindsay too much credit for Sam’s career (and she is a great DJ on her own!). And as much as I think Sam is a great DJ, I’d like to see Lindsay working on more of her own music & movie roles too!

  1. oh this is a little weird..

so let`s see.. Lindsay goes to DJ events with Sam very often.. on one hand this is good and cute, cuz Lindsay shows her support to Sam.. because she loves her, right? but on the other hand this is a little bad for Lindsay.. cuz she travels a lot and she doesnt have any time.. i dont know if i am right about this, but after her single “Bossy”, Lindsay doesn`t work on her new album or movie.. i hope i am aboslutely wrong !

i will love and support Lindsay always and i dont want this to sound like yellin’ or something.. i’m just sharin’..

Love u, Lindsay! take care! PEACE

Yes Lindsay has helped her. But Lindsay gets paid too for showing up so I don’t think she minds that much or else she would not follow Sam so much. A couple that gets paid together stays together. :)

    Merry Christmas everyone.
To answer that question: Yes; but as long as Lindsay loves what she is doing no harm done. But if her own career is at risk in return based on a fixed idea then i’m affraid she’s going to regret that decision.

I think so. The amount Sam’s fees have gone up seems to reflect this. However, I don’t see anything wrong with this. You charge what people are willing to pay and if you can charge more, you’d be a fool not to.

What is implied by all of this is that Sam is just using Lindsay to raise her fees. I don’t think that’s the case. I think that’s just the circumstances of things and she’s taking advantage of that. Should they break up (knock wood) or Lindsay cease to be a draw, I would imagine her fee might come down unless Sam is that much of a draw in her own right.

It’s a catch 22. Were I Sam, I would be torn between asking Lindsay to not come to my shows so I’m not just using her celebrity clout to help boost my career and wanting her there with me. Frankly, I suspect they’ve been over this and have decided to just live with it. But some of their fights may have been over Sam not knowing if she’s doing well as a DJ because she’s doing well of if it’s all because Lindsay comes to her shows. That would eat me up inside, but that’s just me.
