In CHAPTER 27, first-time writer-director JP Schaefer attempts to unravel the mystery surrounding Lennon’s death… Jared Leto steps into the role of Mark Chapman, the crazed fan who ultimately fired those five fatal shots at the former Beatle. The actor’s shocking physical transformation (he piled on a whopping 67 pounds to play the part) is indeed remarkable, but it’s his central performance as a man on the brink of mental collapse that won him critical acclaim. The film’s title is derived from JD Salinger’s classic novel THE CATCHER IN THE RYE, which ends on chapter 26. It is the same book that Chapman was holding at the time of the murder and, he claims, holds the key to his actions.. [via Amazon]

Lindsay and Jared are the only two big name stars in the movie, and this is a british promo poster, done for empire movie magazine.i saw a pretty good bootleg of this movie,Lindsay was great in her two scenes,as a supporting character, and the only bright spot in this film,as it clearly is a jared leto movie, and rightly so.he is pretty much the obsessed lunatic, and completely off the hook in his physical and mental portrayal of chapman.leto should get at least a nomination for this role,as he is a fine character actor, and does the odd, quirky roles quite well.i really liked Lindsays completely naturalistic take on Jude,no affectation or odd mannerisms, just an idealistic, young fan, typical of the fans of that era,and she even gave the increasingly mad chapman another chance at friendship after his outburst, but he drove her away.Lindsays reactions were spot-on,well delivered, and her exit sent chapman and the film over the edge into the abyss of unrecoverable madness.great acting by both Lindsay in her supporting role and leto as the lead.i still will go see this movie at the theater,as i love to see miss Lohan on the silver screen,up in the lights where she belongs, larger than life.love always,a huge fan and friend.peace
