CBS Films has optioned the body-switching novel Freaky Monday from Heather Hach, who co-wrote the book with Mary Rodgers, author of the 1973 novel Freaky Friday, according to Variety.

But this movie would not be a mother-daughter switch — it would be a teen girl and her teacher switching in this version.

Freaky Monday is about a smart but insecure girl who switches bodies with her sympathetic junior high English teacher for a day.

Lindsay Lohan starred in the 2003 Disney remake along with Jamie Lee Curtis.

I don’t know if Lindsay would play a part in this movie, unless it’s a cameo role of some sort.

BuzzSugar.com is asking readers to cast the movie, suggesting Tina Fey possibly as the teacher and Selena Gomez as the student. Not bad. Who do you think would be good for this movie? Should Lindsay have a part?

Machete is the feature-length version of the  fake trailer by Robert Rodriguez that originally appeared in Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse.

Machete will star Danny Trejo as Machete, a renegade former Mexican Federale who attempts to assassinate McLaughlin (Robert De Niro), a corrupt senator, but then gets shot himself. Although hurt, he goes on the run after Benz (Jeff Fahey), the one who double-crossed him; this is when the “brutal rampage of revenge” takes place.

Lindsay Lohan  has a small role in the movie as April, described s a “socialite with a penchant for guns.”   Lindsay traveled to Austin for two days in mid-September to film scenes for Machete.

Others in the movie include Michelle Rodriguez, Cheech Marin, Jesica Aba Rose McGowan, Steven Seagal and Don Johnson.

Sony recently purchased the distribution rights to the movie.

The deal was announced Monday by Sony and Hyde Park Entertainment.

Sony worked with Rodriguez on El Mariachi, Desperado and Once Upon a Time in Mexico, according to Variety.

Variety also appears to be confirming that Lindsay Lohan will indeed take a part in Machete, joining the cast of Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal and more. Lindsay will have a supporting role. Lindsay had previously hinted at this confirmation via twitter.

In Labor Pains, Lindsay plays Thea Clayhill, a girl who gave up her college education to work full-time to take care of her sister after their parents died. She hates her job, where her overbearing and comedically dog-obsessed boss is constantly degrading her. Faced with being fired, Thea lies and says she’s pregnant - and they can’t fire a pregnant woman.

Almost as soon as the deception begins, Thea’s life improves. She gets the seat on the bus, people treat her differently, and she gets an opportunity at work to lead the new Family Division. Thinking all her success is due to the fake pregnancy, not her own talent, Thea continues the farce. Meanwhile, we see her loser boyfriend get dumped and Thea fall for her boss, Nick. All very cute. Of course, the whole thing backfires, but it does so beautifully.

Most of the time, the film is filled with well-delivered comedic performances. The script is a little predictable, perhaps, but it’s a solid comedy. I think Lindsay connected better with Thea as the script progressed, though sometimes you wished the character was a little deeper. I think, in some ways, they tried to put too many characters into the movie for it to flow smoothly. The movie was slightly cliche, but I still enjoyed watching it.

This would be great news for Lindsay who has recently fallen upon some hard times.  Romance and gossip are the hottest items in her career right now and it is time to bring it back to her talent.  For those of you who are not familiar with Roberto Rodriguez’s work, he is the mastermind director behind such cult hits as From Dusk Till Dawn and Grindhouse.

The trailer for Machete was shot several years ago as a fake exploitation movie and was shown within the real movie Grindhouse.  Here is the official trailer, if you haven’t had a chance to catch Grindhouse yet.

The mock trailer was so well received that it motivated Rodriguez to get started on the real film as soon as possible.

When questioned about the upcoming project at last week’s Comic-Con, Rodriguez revealed few details.

“I can’t say too much about it, “Except that we start shooting in a couple weeks!”

He also added that we should prepare ourselves for the “set-up, double-crossed and left for dead” illegal immigrant who “knows the score, gets the women … and kills the bad guys!”

And while Rodriguez would not outright confirm rumors of Hollywood heavyweight Robert DeNiro signing on, he did reveal that he wants Lindsay to be part of the project.

“Lindsay’s cool,” Rodriguez said. “There’s actually a cool part in the movie for her — if she takes it.”

We certainly hope she does, too!
