Anderson Cooper Critical of “Living Lohan”
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper appeared on The View as a guest co-host. However, he took to the pulpit and started really bashing Living Lohan, and has taken a lot of public criticism for doing so. He even referred to Ali Lohan as attempting to become a "striptease person" who "looks to be about 60."
Michael Lohan tells TV Guide that Ali Lohan was very hurt by the whole incident. Ali Lohan was at home sick with strep throat when the episode aired, and took the issue quite personally. Michael says of Anderson: "I’m surprised that he lowered himself to pick on a child and act like a child himself." Dina also talked to the press, saying that people are cruel and that it is "bad karma" for Anderson Cooper.
Well, Anderson Cooper did not apologize. In fact, when he came back on the air confronted with the issue, he continued to be critical. They are critical, in this instance, of Dina not addressing CNN, Anderson or even The View but, instead, taking her story to OK Magazine. Here’s his resopnse:

“Live With Regis and Kelly”, not “The View”
I don’t see what he would have to apologize for. It’s “Live with Regis & Kelly.” Off the cuff jokes like that are the norm for that show every since it was “Live with Regis & Kathy Lee.” Most of the criticisms he’s made are criticisms that many have already made from before the show even aired and the show merely confirmed.

What a coward you are (Anderson Cooper), for picking on a young 14 year-old child. Oh yeah, anything goes for ratings. I had respect for you but, Shame on you!

Ignore him, he is an Idiot. Ali, Your voice is amazing, and You can Sing, I have heard You, so Ignore this Blithering Idiot, he doesn’t know what he is talking about. Give ANY moron a venue for national airing of his or her opinion, and they would ALL sound like Anderson Cooper. Remember, a Broken Clock is right twice a day, if you don’t care what century it thinks it is, but an Idiot is just an Idiot, A moron. In fact…….I have my OWN theory of Morons, thus: most people I encounter, are not SMART enough to be more-on’s, they qualify for Less-on’s, and it takes 2 or more Less-on’s to equal ONE More-on, which is why during a multi-car crash, you hear so many cries from other motorists looking on of ” Hey you Moron’s get out of the way !! ” Also same applies when you get two or more talk show hosts together, or two or more commenter’s or talk show host wanna-be’s together on the same Show, liiiiiiikkkke the one just up above here, and woe is us for ” the view ” there we have 5 Less-on’s who equal a half of a More-on, who despite ALL the critisism in the planet available today, simply refuse to learn THEIR ” Lesson ” so don’t let Anderson Cooper, or his ilk, get you down. Just keep perservering and you’ll come out on top. GOD Bless You, Aliana, and for Your Sister, I also say;
GOD Bless You Lindsay D Lohan, I Love You Always, me, Larry T Robinson O.R. Tn.

OPIE you’re right on. Jokes, even if they’re mean-spirited, are the norm for these sorts of shows. If Dina didn’t like such criticism then she should’ve never done a reality show. You just open yourself up for this sort of ridicule. And everybody is entitled to their opinion. That’s show business and if you want to make it you need to bring your thick skin along.

I have to say that I saw the exchanges a few weeks ago and I didn’t disagree with anything Anderson said.
Reality TV can be nuts. But we all tune in for it and we want to see the good, the bad and the ugly.
What’s more “real” than the opinion of a seasoned, professional, well respected ‘real life’ journalist?
Last I checked, ours is a free country where we can freely state our opinions and views. We can’t just say the good things without acknowledging the crazy, silly and bad things.
Face it — not all reality tv is for everyone. Plenty of people will Love everything about the Lohans. We love this kind of entertainment.
Anderson Cooper is out on the front lines - literally - reporting news of the world that truly matters. And if he’s sitting in front of a television one day, watching what he believes to be a ludicrous and mindless show, he’s certainly entitled to speak his mind.
Anderson didn’t say anything that millions of people don’t already think about what comes into our living rooms each day. But because he happened to be critical, and he is someone of extreme intelligence and importance in his news field, his opinion of a family on television somehow mattered to the masses.
I may not have been so opinionated about this except for the fact that Dina decided to air her ‘hurt’ with OK Magazine and not reach out directly to Anderson Cooper himself. If she was so offended, she could easily have contacted his representatives and given him a piece of her mind. Instead, she chose to air publicly, where she was sure to get a boat load of media attention, that they were hurt and offended, and that karma would come back at him.
Given Anderson’s full and experienced life, I sincerely doubt he’s worried about karma. With all the good he has done in the world, karma and he are just fine.
If a parent is so concerned about their child being ‘hurt’ by media criticism, they would do well to keep them out of the industry all together. It’s not like the television/music industry is NEW to them. Lindsay Lohan has been in it now for many years, and she, herself is subjected to everything under the sun on an hourly basis! Dina’s eyes were wide open to the ‘good, the bad, and the ugly’ and she and her family still chose to pursue this route and possible career path for her daughter (and them as well).
They say that all publicity is good — the good stories and the bad stories — at least people are talking about you.
And that’s MY opinion, for anyone who thinks I matter! :-)

Well, for me, I had to stop watching the show before Michael showed up. It was contrived and self-serving Obviously the existed only to try to paint Dina (and Ali and maybe the rest) in a favorable light but it was bad at doing that.
Before the show, I recall hearing all sorts of criticism aimed at Dina and thought, well, I don’t know what happened because I wasn’t there. Well, with this show, we’re shown exactly what happened and it’s spun by her to show her to be as good as possible, and I think it just confirms our worst nightmares.
If Dina Lohan has even two brain cells to rub together, she will not bring this show back for another season, no matter how much money they throw at her.

Anderson Cooper said nothing that was not already common knowledge. Go ahead and shoot the messanger but Dina and Michael Lohan are the ones who have really been the negative force in the entire Lohan family saga.

My comment about him being an Idiot still stands, ANY journalist worth his salt, will at least do his own background check before voicing an opinion, and ALI can S*I*N*G, so cooper did NOT do all of his own homework, or he would have been also positive about Her Singing Career. BUT all he chose to spout was the same negative hate/bash lohan train, that I have heard so many other places repitition is the name of the game, but in this case it won’t make it true. ALI has Talent. Period. If you havent heard the release of the single She has done, lately, listen to it. marvelous voice and voice tones.

I don’t know the answer to that one zwinky, why would ANYONE be in a hurry to ” Grow Up ” weren’t you when you were a kid, or are you still a Kid ? Some of us just get older in our heads faster than others, some like me stay a mix, Like, at 12 I built my first short wave radio, out of a tube kit I bought, I did it my self, my dad or mom had no interest in helping me with it. but they were also not impressed with the fact that it worked perfectly when it was finished either, they wanted me to be just average, and I just wasn’t, they made out like it was no big deal, turns out I could have won every science fair for my age group if I had known about them and entered them. The way MY parents made it out like ( circa. 1964 ) every kid on my block had a short wave radio they built from a kit. Little did I know at the time just how special that was and I was the only one in my city that had done so. And I live in the Atomic City at that !! Lots of smart kids at that time all over the place !! My Point ?? That Ali has a Mother, who is in a position to advance Ali’s career, NOW !! and has the desire to say Right ON ! You have a TALENT that is really good, so go out and USE it, not ” ho-hum, you’re nothing special ” what a difference in a persons life that makes !! I have lived through that HO-Humming myself personally, have been subjected to that !! SO I SAY to Dina Lohan RIGHT-ON MOM YOU GO GIRL !! Get your daughter into films, and into the recording studio, and when She is 56, ( like I am now ) She’ll have acomplishments to look back on with pride, and a sense of fulfilment !!
