Richard Lohan, Lindsay Lohan’s paternal grandfather (Michael Lohan’s father) has passed away. This sad news comes close on the heels of the feud between Lindsay & Michael went public.

Lindsay Lohan’s grandfather has been in a Long Island hospital with a terminal case of colon cancer for some time. Michael Lohan announced the death of his father via OK Magazine (that should tell you something).

“My father just, literally, died in my arms. I notified all my kids and my lawyer notified Dina’s attorney. Let’s see if she has the decency and respect to bring my kids to the wake and funeral.”

Michael did use the death as an opportunity to bash Dina Lohan for allegedly not visiting Richard in the hospital and saying “THIS” will show Dina’s “true colors.” Michael also spoke with E! about the death and claimed that Lindsay was in contact with him.

“Lindsay did reach out to me. She sent me a message this morning. She said, ‘Now papa has found peace and maybe we can find peace in our lives, too.’ “

Lindsay posted a message to her MySpace again today to say she’s had “no contact with [her] father” (Michael Lohan lied *shock*) and that she hopes “he uses this time to… mourn the loss of his father” rather than talking to the media about her or the people in her life.

“better he just keeps his mouth shut.”

Lindsay also says she’s having fun filming Ugly Betty: “the cast is great, the crew is great, and it’s nice to be at work, doing what i love to do!”

In other family news, Lindsay Lohan’s uncle (on Dina’s side) was sentenced yesterday to a year in federal prison for defrauding the US government of terrorist relief funds.

Katy Perry, the singer famous for her song "I Kissed a Girl", would like to kiss Lindsay Lohan!

As you know from my earlier post, Lindsay Lohan will be presenting at the MTV Video Music Awards.

According to E!, Katy Perry would like to repeat the drama of Madonna & Britney Spears kissing at the VMAs. And the girl that MTV wants to pair up with Katy Perry? Lindsay Lohan!

"Producers are really working hard on it," a source exclusively reveals to me. "They’d love it to be Lindsay, and they’re actually going to ask."

I highly doubt Lindsay would say yes.

Lindsay Lohan was seen on the set in Queens, New York, alternately wearing a cute cheerleader outfit and another high school outfit. She shot films with America Ferrera, presumably a high school flashback, inside Bryant High School in Astoria, Queens.

Given how drawn-out and complicated this Michael Lohan mess is, I wanted to tie together the last three posts with this summary.

1. Michael Lohan begins talking to any press outlet that will listen about how he thinks Samantha Ronson is bad for Lindsay, is using her
2. Lindsay Lohan writes on her blog about this destroying any chance at a future relationship between herself and her father
3. Samantha Ronson writes about pitying Michael for his views

Sadly, all of this wasn’t the end of the mess. And probably we’ll see this spiral out until people get tired of it. First, Lindsay Lohan talked with Access Hollywood. Given that Lindsay keeps quiet for most drama, this whole thing must have her very angry! Lindsay tells Access Hollywood that she is tired of Michael publicly commenting on her mom, sister and on Sam.

"He’s out of control", says Lindsay. "I want him to stop hurting and talking to the media about the people I love."

In response to this interview, Michael Lohan talked to ABC. Seems he was a little miffed to be called "out of control".

"Who’s out of control? Whose life is out of control? Give me a break. Going from place to place, being dragged around by Samantha so she can make more money off of Lindsay being there when she spins … She’s gone from making $7 million to less than a million a movie. Who’s out of control?"

Michael says that going to church & helping people in rehab proves that he’s in control.

*SIGH* such drama! I hope Lindsay is dealing with all of this ok!

By now you’ve read Michael’s rant to the press accusing Samantha Ronson of using his daughter, Lindsay. And you’ll have read Lindsay’s public response. Now, time for what Samantha has to say!

Samantha writes on her own MySpace with the title “SHUT THE F*** UP” and mood “bullied.” Sam prefaces her post saying she doesn’t want to say anything because then Michael, a man desperate for attention, wins. Instead of talking about her pain or anger Samantha takes the high road and instead has pity for Michael.

i am not the reason that he has no contact with his daughter- he is- his need to throw a tantrum for the whole world to hear is- i am not going to go into a play by play defense- i feel no need to publicly defend my role in lindsay’s life- i’m just sorry that she likes me more than him.

Samantha finishes by saying she’s not in a relationship with Lindsay to earn a living – she’s “here for her for her” and won’t be writing a book any time soon. But asks, instead, “when does your book come out mr. lohan?”

Lindsay Lohan is even more powerful now that she’s back with her own voice on her MySpace account. And she’s using it to lash out at her father for using the media again to "talk" to / about her.

From Lindsay’s MySpace, her current mood is "betrayed" and Lindsay starts off on a rant with "If you have something to say to me, say it to my face." And Lindsay doesn’t play mind games here, she lets it be known that the post is about her father and what he said. Lindsay says it "really hurts", that after everything her family has been through, she tried to have the hope for a father again, but that things have not changed. And if he is to reform, it will be without her at his side.

"He has become a public embaressment and a bully- To my family, my co-workers, my friends, and a girl that means the world to me (its obvious who that is)."

Lindsay says she’s chosen not to involve Michael in her life – that his "attack" on her life is to fuel his addiction for fame. Her words.

"If he really cared about me and my life, then he would learn to respect my wishes by staying out of it."

Lindsay says that Sam hasn’t sold her out, nor has her mother. She stops soon after this part with a few smirks about the paparazzi.

Michael Lohan has gone TOO far this time. And the whole mess has exploded in his face.

For reasons we never do understand, Michael Lohan came to E! after he read online somewhere thaat Samantha Ronson may be writing a book. He used this an excuse to accuse Samantha of using Lindsay.

"I’ve shut up about this long enough. She’s using my daughter. People never even knew who Samantha Ronson was until she met Lindsay. She was just some L.A. DJ. And now she’s writing a book? I am at wit’s end with this stuff. This is not in Lindsay’s best interest."

I believe it may be YOU who are not in Lindsay’s best interest, Mr. Lohan.

But wait! There’s more! Michael also told X17 that he believes Samantha is a “drug” for Lindsay. He calls Sam “controlling and manipulative”. He claims to be one of the only people in her life keeping her sober – “definitely not” Sam or Dina. Michael claims Dina is telling him that Sam shouldn’t be in Lindsay’s life. Michael says he’s going to go back to court to hurt Dina where it hurts – the wallet – because of what she is doing to Lindsay (inference – by letting her be with Sam).

Michael continues to say nasty things about Sam, calling her a “slob” and accusing her of holding Lindsay back and taking advantage of her.

I see some parallels between Britney and Lindsay — the instability, the domineering companion. Lindsay’s not in the state that Britney was or is, but there are minor similarities. Just because a person’s not abusing drugs or alcohol doesn’t mean they’re healthy. And Lindsay being with Sam is making matters worse.

I would sacrifice my own life to get Sam out of Lindsay’s.
